Even though Sean was the most pleasant among the four of them, it was also true that not even Steven would be a match for him when he decided to unleash his merciless viciousness.
“How could anything else be more important than reminiscing together!” Sean said, a warm smile on his face as he took his white coat off and readjusted the shirt he was wearing beneath it. Then, he added, “Why don’t we head to our usual spot? We can also discuss what you brought up in-depth there!”
“I… I didn’t say anything!” Layla was scared out of her mind now. The ‘usual spot’ Sean was referring to was her personal hell, a place she never wanted to step foot in for the rest of her life.
Layla took several steps backward. “No, you can’t treat me this way, Sean Smith. I am Jordan’s wife. You can’t do this to me!”
“Wife?” Sean tugged at his tie, a seemingly harmless smile on his face as he said, “I think Jordan should be thanking me. Having a wife like you would be one of the most troublesome things he’s ever had to deal with!” The expression on his face turned frosty as he spoke. “My time is precious. Other people have to wait until I’m in the mood for them before they get to see me, but you’re turning me down when I’m personally extending you an invitation?”
“Don’t you dare, Sean Smith. I’m Charles’ sister. I…”
“Why don’t we check if I’ve got the guts, and then whether Charles would rather help you or me?” Sean lost his patience for more talk and walked over to bring his arm down swiftly. His movements were so fast that Layla did not even have time to run before her head lolled to one side, and she collapsed to the ground.
Sean lowered his gaze and reached a leg out to kick Layla’s arm before scoffing.
“Hey, Peter, I’ve got you a present. Also, bring Charles with you!” Sean hung up the phone after he finished his sentence, and frowned as he stared at Layla. In the end, he gritted his teeth and knitted his eyebrows even more closely together as he picked Layla up.
It was so f*cking disgusting! He would have to disinfect his entire body later!
When Layla regained consciousness, all she could feel was a bone-chilling coldness surrounding her. It was an extremely familiar sensation, just like what she had experienced four years ago…
