The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) novel Chapter 874

That’s right, she was a member of the Hoffman family. She was Henry Hoffman’s daughter and heiress to the Hoffman family. She had such an honorable identity, there was no way she was the daughter of a lowly commoner, and no way she was the daughter of a murderer.

Peter stared cooly at Layla, the look in his eyes growing colder by the minute. “There’s no point in denying things. You claimed Tania’s parents for yourself for so many years and also caused her harm. The only reason she did not end your life back then was because of her kindness. As for me, though…” Peter tightened the hold he had around Layla’s neck. “I may have plenty of time on my hands, but I don’t have all the time in the world to waste with you. Where is Tania?”

Peter’s chokehold on Layla’s neck was growing tighter by the minute, and she could barely breathe anymore. Her face turned a deeper shade of red by the minute because of the lack of air she was getting.

Layla reached her hands out to slap Peter’s arms, and the metal chains fastened to her wrists created loud, clanging sounds. The look in Peter’s eyes became even more murderous as he proceeded to lift Layla into the air, his grip tightening as he did so. “Looks like you still don’t know me very well. I’ve never been one to enjoy wasting my time. You’re still not going to say anything?”

Peter threw Layla onto the ground vehemently and then retrieved a handkerchief to wipe his hands as he gave her a disgusted look. Inside that dim room, the look in his eyes was as frosty as the snow during a blizzard.

The door opened to reveal Steven and Sean standing at the door. “Charles said not to kill her, Peter.”

Layla scrambled to her feet. “I want to see him. I want to see Charles!” She refused to believe Charles would be so heartless.

After all, she had played the role of Charles’ younger sister for the past twenty or so years, and Charles… had been pretty nice to her. At the very least, he never said no to whatever she asked for. “I want to see Charles. He’ll never forgive you when he finds out what you did to me.”
