The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) novel Chapter 902

Tania's half-smile remained. "And what's this, Mr. Langford?"

"Layla and I got married," Jordan announced, his gaze lingering on Tania as if she were a piece of exquisite art.

Tania's smile faded a touch. "Well, congrats. I've been abroad for a few years, so I missed out on your big day."

"Don't sweat it, Tania. Now that you're back, we'll have all the time in the world to catch up. You can always celebrate with Jordan and me at our wedding party later."

"Is that so? Is Ms. Layla planning on walking down the aisle with Mr. Langford again?"

Layla's face tensed up, and she gave Tania an awkward glance. "Sis, you've got it all wrong. I just..."

"Ms. Layla, just stick to calling me Tania. It's the name your dear mom graced me with, after all."

"You..." Layla's complexion turned sour.

The worst thing about her life was having Yasmin as a mother. She had no shame. If it were not for Yasmin, she would be living it up as the rightful heiress of the Hoffman family, not dealing with that mess. "Tania, I get it. You despise me because I ended up with the title that should've been yours. But it's not like I had a say in it. I was just a clueless kid."

"Right, you're the picture of innocence." Tania's laugh was biting. "So innocent that even after you knew I was the real Hoffman heiress, you still had the nerve to come after me, didn't you?" Tania was already in a foul mood, and Layla's blunder just added fuel to the fire. "And here you are, still parading around with my Hoffman name. Doesn't that feel wrong? Why don't you ask your dear mom who your real dad is?"

"I..."

"Tania, Layla's not feeling great, I'm gonna take her to get checked out," Jordan said, cutting off Tania's words with a quick nod, ready to whisk Layla away. However, Layla was not having any of it.
