Improper?
Tania laughed. "Sir Lennon, after all these years, it's surprising that your insults are still so outdated. You're completely out of touch!"
"You—" Xylos, who was flustered and red-faced, pointed a trembling finger at Tania. "Y-You ill-mannered woman, you're unfit to even step through the Lennon residence's door!"
Then, turning to Peter, he added, "Didn't you hear me? I told you to sever ties with this woman. You've been doing well for three years, but now that she's back, you've lost your mind! Pete, you've truly disappointed me."
He cast a reproachful glare at Caleb and his wife. "Look at the son you raised!"
The couple, bound by respect due to Xylos' age, said nothing, though they cast warning looks at Peter. However, Peter, who was ignoring them, simply smiled.
"Tania is my wife, not some improper woman. Honestly, if it were up to me, I wouldn't have brought her here at all. But since you insisted, here we are."
"You… Are you trying to kill me? Didn't you hear me say I don't acknowledge her? Tania is not the Lennons' daughter-in-law!"
"I never said she was. In fact, I don't consider myself a Lennon," Peter retorted coldly, causing Xylos to falter and nearly lose his balance. Fortunately, Jack caught him just in time.
"Are you alright?" Jack asked, helping Xylos sit down.
Xylos took a deep breath, his sharp gaze fixed on Tania. "I've never seen such shamelessness!"
