Zara was thrilled when she learned Tania was coming back and rushed to the kitchen to start preparing a meal, eagerly awaiting her arrival. Peter wore a smile the entire time, making Tania almost wonder if he was under a spell.
She knew Peter might be overthinking things. Sometimes, she genuinely wished he would not overanalyze everything. However, perhaps it was better to let things go as they would. If he misunderstood, then so be it.
Soon, the car pulled up to Five Elements Residence. Tania got out with Brandon, and after parking the car, Peter joined them. "Let me carry Brandon," he offered.
"No need. Brandon can walk on his own," Tania declined and set Brandon down. "Brandon has grown up now. He's a little man and doesn't need to be carried all the time. Isn't that right, Bran?"
Brandon nodded earnestly. "I know that Mommy is tired!"
Tania felt a touch of pride and smiled warmly, but her expression shifted when Brandon added, "But Daddy isn't tired. Daddy says he likes me. Daddy, do you want to carry me?"
With that, Brandon spread his arms and clung to Peter's leg. Peter looked down at the small figure holding onto him, his face softening into a gentle smile.
He reached down to pat Brandon's head. "Alright, I'll carry you!"
Having been groomed as the Lennons' heir from a young age only to be cast out later, Peter hardly experienced a real childhood. He would not let the same happen to his son.
Peter wrapped his arm securely around Brandon, lifting him so that the little boy sat comfortably on his strong arm. "Come on, Brandon. Let's go in, and I'll introduce you to a very special person."
"Is it your mom, Daddy?" Brandon asked, his gaze innocent and curious.
