Chapter 104
With a harsh “smack,” the man slapped her, sending her sprawling to the ground.
Miriam, filled with rage, tried to retaliate, but Clifton impatiently shoved her aside.
In the ensuing chaos, Miriam’s head struck the corner of a table, and blood began to pool from the back of her head.
Little Harriet screamed, “Mom!”
She watched in horror as her mother fell to the ground.
She clung to her mother, shouting, “Mom, wake up!”
But Miriam slowly closed her eyes and breathed her last.
Suddenly, the scene shifted. Harriet found herself outside a quaint little house.
A teenage boy looked at her tenderly and bent down to wipe ted
off her face.
He affectionately patted her head and said, “Remember me, I am Delbie. When you grow up, I will marry you.”
Little Harriet blinked her bright eyes, looked at the handsome boy, and innocently asked, “Delbie, what does it mean to marry me?”
“It means that you will be my wife in the future!” The boy lifted her and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Harriet looked at the boy in confusion.
The boy removed a jade pendant from his neck and said, “Yvonne,

pendant, no matter how much you change, I will always recognize you!
Harriet accepted the jade pendant, gaped at the handsome boy, and gave him a radiant smile.
“Okay! I’ll keep it safe!”
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning split the sky, illuminating the entire villa.
Harriet woke up with a start, unaware that the crescent-shaped scar on her back had briefly glowed and then vanished.
She rubbed her eyebrows, realizing it had been just another nightmare.
Ever since her rebirth, she had been plagued by these fragmented and strange dreams, but she could never remember them upon waking.
As she looked around, she didn’t see Delbert. To her surprise, she
noticed that the chains on her hands and feet had been unlocked.
She flexed her limbs, preparing to get out of bed and search for
Delbert.
Suddenly, a flash of lightning revealed a tall figure standing open window.
“Who is that?” Harriet squinted, trying to make out the figure.
When the lightning flashed again, she recognized the man by the window as Delbert.
