The Day His Demands Broke My Water novel Chapter 56

The next time I heard about Jeremy, it was from a former colleague we used to work with.

Apparently, he had developed severe psychological issues.

He would frequently disrupt weddings, rushing up to punch the groom if there was even the slightest hesitation in their actions.

As he attacked, he would mutter under his breath, "Are you planning to leave the bride behind? You scumbag…"

His family had paid out significant sums in compensation to those he assaulted.

Branka wasn’t doing much better. The relentless online harassment had pushed her into depression.

She didn’t dare leave the house anymore, convinced that anyone she encountered outside would point at her and curse.

I looked at the messages on my phone, feeling nothing.

Jake, uncharacteristically serious, studied my face.

"You don’t have to. I know you spent three years designing this."

I shook my head and replied lightly,

"It doesn’t matter anymore. I used to struggle with the idea of wasting three years of effort. But now, I’ve accepted it. And because of that, this dress just isn’t important anymore."
