Melody grabbed Lucas' hand. Her series of questions tugged at Lucas' heartstrings.
"Silly girl. Of course I'm serious."
After Lucas spoke, tears finally welled up in Melody's eyes.
For the past few days, she had cried and carried all her grievances alone. Beatrice and Cedric believed in her, and she had friends silently supporting her, but what she had not verbalized was what she truly needed—Lucas' care and trust.
She never imagined Lucas would say those words to her. Her grievances were finally being acknowledged. He said he believed her.
Lucas held Melody silently as she cried. At the same time, he recalled the events that transpired.
"There's something I haven't told you yet. Back in my student days, Thalia's sister and I were kidnapped by someone. While the kidnappers targeted me alone, Thalia's sister got involved because of me. Eventually, her sister lost her life because of it, and it was her sister who saved me.

When I saw Thalia lying there motionless, it reminded me of that day with her sister, and I deeply regretted that I failed to save her sister back then. My mind was in chaos, and that was why I spoke harshly to you. I'm sorry. No matter what, I shouldn't have blamed you because of my own guilt."
Melody looked up at Lucas. "You've hardly ever told me about your past..."
She did not dare to speculate on Lucas' intentions. Did this mean she was getting closer to him?

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
