Wendy roared and charged at Melody. Despite maintaining her vigilance, Melody could not help but be startled. Just as Wendy was about to pounce on her, a man ran up from behind Melody and pulled her waist, moving her to the side.
Shaun covered his eyes in frustration. 'Why did Lucas have to come here now, and why was that woman causing trouble for Melody?!'
Staff members were watching over the meeting room, and despite the unpleasant conversation Melody and Wendy were having, there was no indication that Wendy would resort to violence. Who knew that just as Melody was about to leave to resume filming, Wendy would try to hit her again?
"Lucas?" After Melody steadied herself and looked up, she indeed saw Lucas. A smile lit up her face.
"Why are you here? Don't you have a lot of work to do at the company today?" she asked with surprise.
Of course, it was because Lucas had planted a spy to keep an eye over Melody in the film set. When Wendy came to find Melody, he immediately drove over from the company, fearing that Melody would be bullied by the Sanders again.
"I thought we said we won't be meeting with the Sanders again. Why did you agree to meet them?" asked Lucas with a frown. He was obviously displeased by Melody's action.
Melody gently tugged at his sleeve. "It's okay. She didn't do anything to me."
Wendy had fantasized countless times about the man backing Melody to be some fat and short guy, not taller than her. She never expected that the man she would see at that moment would be such a handsome and noble figure. Moreover, she could not shake the feeling that this man looked strangely familiar, though she could not recall where she might have seen him before.
'How could a man like this be interested in a woman like Melody?' Wendy was puzzled, and meeting Lucas's gaze only made her heart raced even more.
Unfortunately, Lucas' gaze toward her was one of utter disdain. He never showed any kindness toward those who hurt Melody, even if they used to be family with Melody.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
