Selena was wearing a denim skirt and shirt that were covered with dust in the afternoon.
Although she had touched up her makeup before going to Chance’s school, everyone judged her based on her outfit. No matter how good-looking Selena was, she did not attract too much attention.
She could leave after listening to the teacher for a while.
Chance performed very well in school. He was also too mature and quiet.
Thus, the teacher was not worried about Chance’s academic performance, but his mental health.
When Chance first transferred to their school, he did not like to talk. He was still the same.
In short, Chance’s family did not pay enough attention to him.
Selena nodded after listening to the teacher and left with Chance.
Some problems could not be solved by an outsider, but Selena would convey the teacher’s words to Eric.
Chance ran over happily when he saw Selena.
Selena reached out and took his school bag while Chance happily went over to hold her hand.
“Aunt Selena, it’ll be great if you can pick me up every day!”
Selena smiled. “I hope so too, but I’m cleaning up my new bar, so I don’t have much time. You can come and play at my place next time. You can wait for me there and we can go home together.”
“Awesome!” Chance skipped while following Selena.
When the two of them got into the car, Eric called.
As Chaz said, Eric’s calls were getting a bit too frequent.
Selena was a little uncomfortable with the frequency of his calls.
“I was just about to go home. What’s wrong?”
Eric was silent for a while before he said, “Are you still in school? Don’t go home. I’ll ask the driver to pick you up.”
“We’re just going for dinner. Why do I need the driver to pick me up?”
“I have something to tell you.”
Eric paused. “Don’t drive, just wait there.”
Selena glanced at Chance, who was next to her, and responded, “Just as well, I have something to tell you too.”
She hung up the phone and looked back at Chance with a smile.
“Your daddy is coming to pick us up and wants us to wait here. I’ll park the car nearby then.”
Chance nodded.
Eric did not go in person and sent his driver there.
Selena was a little speechless, but she still smiled and said hello. Then, she urged Chance to get into the car.
The driver seemed to be in high spirits, chatting and laughing with Selena along the way, trying to make them happy.
However, Selena was so tired that she was in no mood to chat. Thus, she just brushed him off perfunctorily with a few sentences.
The driver brought them to a resort manor in the suburbs. This manor was not open to the public. Only acquaintances could make reservations here. Outsiders would have no way to enter.
The car drove inside.
The sun was setting.
The decorative lights inside were bright.
The grass was a lush green, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of freshly cut grass.
Selena looked around and saw many people talking and laughing in an open space.
Some of them looked familiar because she had seen them at Eric’s office.
Selena froze slightly. Did Eric invite everyone in the company?
The roses that were planted at the last minute on the side of the road emitted a strong fragrance, which led all the way to the crowd.
Selena got out of the car and frowned slightly.
“Is it a company event? Is that why Eric wants me to come for dinner?”
Besides this, Selena could not think of any other reason.
The driver smiled meaningfully.
“You’ll know when you go and have a look.”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Divorced Billionaire Heiress
I liked this book and wanted to read it. As I have moved into the chapters, I have found that it is unreadable due to typographical errors, including sentences that are incomplete, complete gibberish, missing elements. This is not just some misspelled words. It is actually unreadable. If you decide to fix this, let me know and I will read it....
