The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1591

When Grady got the call while sitting in the car, his face went through a whole spectrum of colors, finally settling on a shade of green.

With Miss Mira right there beside him, he had to bite down on his temper. "If he wants to leave, let him. If he doesn't want to stick around, that's his problem!"

It was downright embarrassing for someone of his stature, the head of a prominent family, to be dealing with such nonsense. If he went along with these shenanigans, he'd lose all his dignity.

His subordinate, feeling the pressure over the phone, replied, "But if he just takes off and Miss Mira finds out what went down today... it won't look good."

Grady felt his patience slipping away. Was this going to be one of those situations where they ended up worse off?

Taking a deep breath, Grady said quietly, "Talk to him properly. It's no good for anyone to let this blow up."

With that, he ended the call.

Mirabella, sitting next to him, noticed his sour expression. She didn't know what was going on but offered, "Uncle, if you've got things to handle, go ahead."

Grady put away his phone, turning to her with a smile that seemed a bit forced, "It's nothing urgent, just a minor thing. No need for me to get involved."

Mirabella blinked, "You're sure about that?"

Grady's smile deepened, "Absolutely sure."

But not long after, his phone rang again. Despite his earlier claim, Grady had to step out of the car.

Mirabella watched him leave, feeling a mix of admiration and concern. Her uncle was really something, making time to pick her up from the airport despite everything on his plate.

Grady, now known as 'truly kind,' found himself back at the airport again.

As he strolled into a café, a server promptly delivered a freshly brewed coffee to his table, like it was all part of a well-rehearsed routine.

"James's reputation definitely precedes him. I'm seeing it for myself today," Grady commented, shrugging off his coat, still radiating a touch of menace.
