Mirabella silently reminded herself to keep her eyes to herself and discreetly shifted her gaze away before leaving the room.
When she entered the suite next door, Mirabella couldn't help but notice the strange looks Robert and his friends were giving her. Curiosity got the better of her, and she asked, "Why are you all looking at me like that?"
Robert cleared his throat, snapping back to reality. "It's just a bit embarrassing, you know, dining and staying in such a swanky suite."
"Yeah, Mira, your family must've spent a fortune," Blaze added.
Mirabella hesitated briefly, deciding to keep quiet about the hotel being owned by the Davis family. Instead, she said, "It's the off-season right now, and a friend gave us a voucher. Would’ve been a shame to let it go to waste."
Robert shot her a knowing smile, interpreting her words as a considerate gesture to ease any guilt they might feel.
Such a thoughtful young lady, they all mused.
Mirabella cleared her throat and asked, "Professor, you mentioned in your message there was something you wanted to discuss?"
"Oh, right. The head of the Math Department got in touch. They want to have a meeting tomorrow. Their hotel’s not far from here, so I suggested they come over around ten."
Robert's grin widened as he said the last few words. Why let one person flaunt when the whole Physics Department could? It was time to show the Math Department their understated charm.
Mirabella glanced at Robert, wondering why he was in such high spirits today.
Robert then pulled out his phone and sent Mirabella the information from the Math Department. "Mirabella, just give this a quick look. The algorithms are pretty complex, so don't stress if it doesn’t all click."
Relieved she could remain laid-back, Mirabella nodded. "Sure thing, Professor."
After a few more words, the meeting wrapped up quickly.
Mirabella headed back to her room with her phone in hand.
