After Robert wrapped up his chat, he and Mirabella headed back outside. They didn't have to wait long before the lead professor of the Math Department and his students showed up.
The Math professor took a quick look at Robert and then glanced toward the hotel lobby, still wearing a look of disbelief. "Your department really knows how to splurge."
He thought their hotel was already top-notch, but the Physics Department seemed to have outdone them.
Robert had been waiting for this moment all night. He flashed a broad grin and waved his hand casually. "Oh, it's all thanks to my student. Didn't cost a dime."
The Math professor found Robert's smug grin a bit annoying. So what if he had money?
Whatever.
Mirabella didn't pay much attention to the playful exchange between the two professors. Her eyes paused for a moment on Yara, who was standing just behind the Math professor.
Yara was just as surprised to see Mirabella there. As a freshman, Mirabella wasn't supposed to be at such an in-depth symposium. But then again, being Dr. Elliot’s student had its perks.
After the initial shock, Yara smiled warmly and gave Mirabella a nod. Her makeup was on point, and she had that elegant vibe of someone from a well-off family. "Mirabella."
Mirabella nodded back politely. "Hi, Senior."
The Math professor was a bit taken aback at their greeting. "Yara, you two know each other?"
Yara nodded lightly. "When I visited the Physics Department earlier, Dr. Elliot introduced us. Mirabella is Dr. Elliot's newest student."
Her words surprised not just the Math professor but also the other students behind her. Nobody had heard that Dr. Elliot took on a new student. And Mirabella seemed like a total mystery. Usually, those who became students of someone as renowned as Dr. Elliot had some serious skills, and it was odd they hadn’t met someone like her before.
