As soon as she finished speaking, a flashy, limited-edition sports car rolled up to the restaurant entrance. Out stepped a strikingly handsome man in a bright, trendy jacket. He unbuckled his seatbelt and got out, making his way straight to Mirabella.
"Mom... Am I late?" Dylan almost blurted out by mistake.
Mirabella couldn't quite appreciate Dylan's over-the-top style. She rubbed her forehead, wishing she could just pretend they weren't acquainted. "No, you're just on time."
"On time?" Dylan looked confused.
Mirabella cleared her throat, "I mean, you got here just in time."
Dylan looked even more puzzled. "Huh?"
Ignoring him, Mirabella turned to Blaze and the others, saying, "Guys, I gotta go."
Blaze nodded absentmindedly, his eyes still glued to Dylan. "Oh, okay."
Mirabella nodded back, then headed towards the sports car. Seeing this, Dylan glanced at Blaze and his friends, gave a polite nod, and quickly went to open the car door for Mirabella. Once she was seated, he closed the door and walked around to get back into the driver's seat.
The whole scene looked like the boss with her trusty sidekick.
Blaze watched the car drive away, finally snapping out of it. "Mira must be the daughter of some big-shot tycoon!"
"Quit dreaming," Patrick said with a smirk.
"Come on, wouldn't you feel cool knowing Mira, a tycoon's daughter?" Blaze puffed up his chest, feeling a bit smug.
Patrick just shook his head as their ride arrived. He nudged Blaze, "Alright, let's get in."
As they got into their car, some classmates from the math department behind them sneered, "A tycoon's daughter? That's a bit much."
