The Enigmatic Return (Neera and Jean) novel Chapter 623

Jean had just finished work and was about to head home from Beauvort Group. Once he was about to leave, he saw Frederic and Wrenn.

Jean was a bit surprised to see them back from their vacation.

"Why have you come back?" Jean asked.

Wrenn had a gloomy face and scolded him right away.

"Why do you even need to ask? The news is all over the place. With such an incident happening, everyone knows about it. How can we stay calm?"

Jean understood their concerns but remained composed. He said, "The online rumors are baseless. It's the Garcia Group trying to tarnish Neera's reputation unilaterally. Don't take it seriously."

Wrenn was visibly frustrated and said, "At a time like this, you still defend her? The Garcia family and Neera are related; there must be a reason if they're making such accusations. Do you think they would randomly target her for no reason? Do they have nothing better to do?"

Jean frowned and said, "Mom, why do you always assume that everything others say is true? Have you forgotten what the Garcia family did in the past? If they could do something like that, what else couldn’t they do?"

Wrenn was momentarily at a loss for words. However, I still could not believe Neera; something was wrong with her!

"Stay focused. Don't get sidetracked! Besides, you know the Garcia family has a bad reputation. Neera has been influenced by them; she can't be that great either! And some of the information was leaked by others. They have no reason to blame her. What do they gain from it?"

She spoke sternly and tried to make Jean believe that these were all facts.

"You've seen the news yourself! Others see it more clearly than you do about what kind of person Neera is! She's not worth being your wife! Jean, don't be stubborn!" Wrenn said.

Jean lost his patience as he realized he could not convince Wrenn. Jean remained silent for a while and said, "I know you have a lot of grievances against Neera, and you can't see her fairly. Even if I explain, you won't listen. I don't want to explain anymore because this situation can't be clarified quickly. But I'll say one thing, Neera is not the kind of person you thought she was."

Wrenn was trembling from the argument and still could not trust Neera. At that moment, Frederic said, "Why are you so sure?"

Jean replied coldly, "I have the evidence."

Then, Jean looked at Wrenn and said, "Mom, I don’t want to argue with you anymore. We have argued a lot about Neera’s case. I just hope that you will trust me and give me some time. I promise you, you’ll clearly see what kind of person Neera is."

Jean spoke softly at the end.

Wrenn still felt somehow upset after all. However, she felt somewhat calmer after Jean’s words. Of course, I trust Jean! However, I could not trust Neera… I still couldn't let go of my doubts.

"Well, it's up to you. Even if you speak up for her, I can't accept her!" Wrenn said coldly. It was all because of those three children!

At this moment, Ian entered the room and felt a bit awkward seeing the situation.

Frederic patted Jean's shoulder and said, "Alright, we won't trouble you further. You focus on your work first."

After saying this, Frederic left with Wrenn. After they left, Ian handed Jean two document folders.

"Mr. Jean, this one contains evidence of the online attacks on Ms. Garcia. It contained rumors and evidence of aggressive commenters. This one shows how the Garcia family has treated Ms. Garcia over the years and how they've been harassing her. It also includes video evidence of why Alfonso was arrested. It's all there."

Jean glanced through them, then put them back in the folders.

Jean said, "Give everything to the Legal department and tell them to be prepared. Everyone involved in this must be sued. No one should be left out!"

After giving his instructions, he picked up his car keys and headed home.
