The Fortune Telling Heiress (Madison Locke) novel Chapter 109

Chapter 109

After pulling Madison into the car, Queenie leaned against the window, watching Harvey and Rebecca talk outside. She strained to listen but couldn’t catch anything

What do you think Harvey’s saying to Rebecca?Queenie asked Madison with a gossipy tone. Look, Rebecca’s crying again! Mrs. Locke must be lecturing Harvey, and it’s probably about Reberca.”

She scoffed, not wanting to see more

Aren’t you mad at all, Madison?Queenie asked, glancing at the indifferent Madison. Mrs. Locke is so biased and treats you so unfairly. Doesn’t that upset you?”

If it were her mother, she would have already started a fight with Rebecca. If she was having a hard time, no one else should be allowed. to have it easy either

Madison replied calmly, There’s nothing to be angry about. Relationships are built over time. I haven’t spent much time with the Locke family, so it’s normal for there to be no feelings.”

Normal? Are you kidding? No matter what, you’re Mrs. Locke’s biological daughter. She shouldn’t treat you this way,Queenie insisted. Even if Tanya was blased, she shouldn’t be so blatantly obvious about it

Once Rebecca and the others got into the cars, they headed toward the ghost shrine. Considering the nature of the name, it shouldn’t be surprising that this shrine only attracted harmful relationships

The cars stopped at the base of a mountain

Nate approached Madison and said, I’ve looked into it. This is an abandoned shrine, and not many people know about it”

He scoffed slightly before adding, They call it abandoned, but someone is secretly maintaining it. While few come each year, there are always some who do.”

The mountain wasn’t tall, so they could already see the small shrine from below. Its glazed tiles glared in the sunlight

Queenie crossed her arms and said, Those must be people coming back to fulfill their debts. The shrine may be small, but it’s much more lavish than any proper one.”

After a pause, she added, I came here to fulfill a vow myself.”

Nate glanced over at her

Queenie shot him a look. What are you looking at? I had no idea there was a problem with the shrine at the time!!”

Nate averted his gaze and said to Madison, It’s too late to go today. We’ll head to the shrine tomorrow. I’ve booked a nearby inn for us

Queenie quickly chimed in, I’ve also booked an inn. Madison, stay with me! Harvey personally entrusted you to me.With that, she hooked her arm around Madison’s with a playful grin

Nate remained silent

Madison nodded. Let’s head to where we’ll be staying first.”

The local environment was tranquil, and many inns had been built to boost the economy

After a short while, they arrived at the inns, which were only a two to three-minute drive apart

Queenie led Madison toward the inn she had booked, saying, I’ve reserved the entire place for our safety. At this time of year, it’s really hard to find an inn because of all the tourists.”

Queenie,Rebecca called as she jogged over, looking a bit embarrassed to interrupt them

What is it?”

Queenie frowned, What is

Rebecca looked down and asked softly, Can we stay at this inn, Queenie?”

No,Queenie replied, pulling Madison along

Rebecca grabbed Madison’s arm again. Maddie, please talk to Queenie. We found other inns with vacancies, but they’re half an hour away by car. Mom’s already tired from the trip. Maddie, even if you’re upset with me, you can’t just ignore Mom!”

Madison stayed quiet, but Queenie had already lost her patience. She pulled Rebecca’s hand off and questioned, Don’t you know you need to book a place in advance?”

Chapter 104

Rebecca looked hurt. In the past, Dad, Mom, and Harvey always took care of the travel arrangements. I’ve never had to book anything myself, so I had no idea.”

Queenie rolled her eyes. She wondered if Rebecca was genuinely trying to show off how pampered she was by the Locke family in front

of Madison

Well, too bad. Pleading with Madison won’t change my mind. I said no.Queenie pulled Madison along. Let’s go! Talking to someone

like her is a waste of time.”
