Alex still looked handsome and charming, wearing that gentle smile. 

It seemed that Nadia’s death had no impact on him at all 

“Jessica?” 

“Hello, do I know you?” 

Jessica turned around with a confused expression “H 

Alex’s gaze fockered as he extended his hand. “T’in Alex Don’t you remember me?” 

Jessica tilted her head but politely reached out her hand. “Hello. I’m sorry, I have a poor memory and don’t quite recall you.” 

Alex’s lips twitched slightly, and there was a hint of anger in his voice. “I’m your ex–boyfriend ” 

Jessica maintained her calm demeanor. “Is that so? It must’ve been a long time since we last met.” 

She emphasized the words “long time with a bit more weight. 

Alex was speechless. His gaze swept over her, landing on Jessica’s face. 

Though over 30 now, she possessed a unique charm that other women lacked. He had been with many women over the years, but only Jessica could give him this feeling. 

“What’s the matter? Waiting for your boyfriend?” 

Jessica sighed. “I just broke up.” She smiled self–deprecatingly before tilting her head as tears slid down the comers of her eyes. “It used to be me hurting others. Now, it’s my turn to be hurt.” 

She smiled gently, her eyes filled with melancholy, “I’m sorry. I must’ve hurt you in the past too. If I did, I apologize.” 

Alex was stunned as be looked at Jessica in disbelief. The once dignified woman was now shedding tears for a man. He couldn’t articulate what he was feeling inside. 

A twisted sensation surged within him. He wanted Jessica to cry for him, to have an abortion for him, to even take her own life for him. 

This beautiful, charming woman. She should end her life for him 

That was the true meaning of their encounter 

“Don’t cry for a man who isn’t worth it.” Alex offered a tissue to her. “If you’re in trouble, you can contact me.” 

He handed her his business card, and jessica accepted it.”

Jessica slowly wiped her eyes as she muttered, “I’ve underestimated him.” 

Nadia had remained silent all this time. She suddenly spoke up, “Alex isn’t that land of person, right?”
