Chapter 250
“Why do you have such a long face? They’re just talking.” Dana said as she poked Sebastian’s arm. “Are you worried that Tanya will blame you for not taking care of her daughter properly?”
“Relax! You know what they say–moms usually end up loving their sons–in–law. Besides, you’re not that bad. It’s just that your emotional intelligence could use a little work,” she reassured Sebastian.
Sebastian’s gare remained fixed on the closed ward door. He was as silent as ever.
“Are you really that worried?” Dana asked.
Sebastian replied in a low voice, “The Locke family doesn’t like Madison.”
Dana’s teasing smile instantly faltered. “What did you say?”
“Maddie’s relationship with the Locke family–you know how it is,” Sebastian sald.
Dana nodded, recalling the rumors about the Locke family’s biological and non–biological daughters. “I’ve heard that the Locke family is quite infamous for their situation. I specifically inquired about it.“”
Sebastian continued staring at the door. “The Locke family doesn’t treat Madison well.
Dana frowned in confusion. “They finally found their biological daughter and should be doing anything they can to make up for the years lost. How could they not treat her well?–
“There’s guilt, but there’s no emotional bond. Meanwhile, there’s another daughter they do care about,” Sebastian said.
Those words struck Dana like a lightning bolt, illuminating the true meaning behind Sebastian’s concems. Her brows furrowed together in thought. “The Locke family is in the wrong here.”
If they only felt indebted to Madison without any real affection, they might as well not acknowledge her and provide monetary compensation instead.
If they did have feelings for her, they should treat both Madison and Rebecca equally and make an effort to mend their relationship with Madison
How could any parent bring their own daughter home and yet still treat her poorly?
Just then, the ward door swung open again. Tanya stored out with a fierce expression, with Rebecca following closely behind her. She put on a gentle demeanor. “Madison, think this through,” Tanya wamed before shutting the door firmly behind her.
Upon turning back and seeing Dana and the others, Tanya immediately donned a warm smile. “Mrs. Hall, I’m truly sorry She shook her head and sighed. “Madison wasn’t raised by us, so she doesn’t understand many miles. It she’s done anything wrong, please forgive her. As her

“I also apologize for Maddie as her sister. She’s still leaming, and we’ll make sure to teach her properly,” Rebecca added with a particularly gentle smile, doing her best to embody the etiquette of a wealthy heiress.
Dana, however, smiled lightly. “Maddie is doing well. She doesn’t need teaching. She’s quite polite, and I have no complaints.”
Tanya and Rebecca exchanged stunned glances.
Dana patted Sebastian’s arm, urging him, “Why don’t you go see Maddie? She’s our benefactor. If it weren’t for someone opposing it, I would’ve wanted to adopt Maddie as my daughter.”
ke to Tanya, “Adaughter like Maddie is a tr
a treasure that every parent would cherish.”
