Chapter 254
An eene silence fell over the hospital ward. Sebastian’s gaze was fixed intently on Madison, and her face betrayed her resistance to his gaze
The smile on his lips grew more pronounced as he straightened up and returned to his chair. “Do you have something to say?”
Madison towed het brows. She stared at him for a long moment before she finally said, “I don’t like you, and I won’t ever like you.”
sebastian’s smile remained unchanged. “Is it just me you don’t like, or do you feel that way about everyone?
“I’m not thinking about that right now,” Madison replied coldly.
He nodded knowingly. “okay, I understand. Let’s discuss the collaboration with the Locke family.”
He adopted a businesslike demeanor, as if the rejection of his confession hadn’t happened at all. Madison relaxed her guarded expression, secretly relieved. “I don’t know anything about this. You handle it,” she replied.
“Sure.” Sebastian stood up straight and slipped one hand into his pocket. He looked at Madison, his gaze cold. “You should rest well. I’ll be on my way.”
“Okay,” Madison replied softly. As she watched Sebastian make his exit, Madison let out a soft sigh of relief.
Madison asked the system. “So, it’s because Sebastian likes me that he believes in me, but he still can’t provide me with any powerful wishes?
The system responded, “Selther family nor romantic connections can provide you with powerful wishes that c
can enhance your spiritual energy.”
Madison thought about the auspicious energy and golden light surrounding Sebastian and lightly punched her blanket in frustration
What a pity. It Sebastian didn’t like her, the powerful wish she would’ve gotten from him alone could have significantly boosted her spiritual energy.
How could she make Sebastian completely stop liking her, thus generating powerful wishes for her?
Lost in her thoughts, the door to the ward swung open Wanda and the others entered, and a chill filled the air. It was oppressive enough to send shivers down Madison’s:
$ spine.
She lifted her gaze to see vara bringing in Helena, who was being dragged in by the neck. She was nearly hauled along the floor. Clinging tightly to Helena was Mia, daling her best to suppress Helena’s nearly feral state.
Wanda looked anxdous as she said, “Ms. Locke, we’ve brought Helena,”
Yara motioned for Mia to let go and yanked Helena forward to Madison’s bedside. “Here she is: You figure out what to do! If we don’t restrain her soon, she’ll rush straight to Rayson and tear him apart.”
At the mention of Rayson, Helena let out a piercing scream. Madison quickly grabbed the talisman she had prepared earlier, tossing it at Helena.
The moment the ralisman made contact with Helena, it glowed faintly with golden light, dissipating the ghostly energy surrounding Helena
As her expression retumed to normal, Madison noticed her eyes were filled with bloody tears, her face a mix of anguish and rage.
Yara released her grip, and Helena collapsed to the floor, sobbing. “Why won’t you let me kill him? Why can’t I kill that bastard?”
Madison replied calmly, “If you kill him, you’ll be steeped in guilt, and it’ll harm your karma. Do you understand the consequences?”
“I don’t care! As long as I can kill that bastard, I’ll pay any price! Helena cried out, her voice laced with desperation.
“You’ll be ruined, capriced by cultivators, and beaten until you’re left with nothing.”
