Chapter 315
Madison said, “Can you explain further?”
Kim’s breath quickened, and it was hard to tell if it was due to fear or confusion. She felt as if someone was watching her closely. The sensation was particularly unsettling.
She bit her lip and steeled herself. “Last week was my birthday, and I invited a bunch of friends over. We took a lot of photos, but there’s one photo…”
Kim’s face grew even paler. She stared at the camera, seemingly too frightened to look away. Her expression sent a wave of unease through the viewers in the livestream.
“Wait, is this turning into a ghost story?”
“It’s daylight, and I’m still freaked out!”
“I need to hide under my blanket now.”
“Go away,
evil spirit!”
“Don’t worry, Ms. Locke’s got this.”
“Is this really what Madison’s streams are like? This is awful! How do so many people enjoy this? What’s wrong with everyone’s taste these days?”
The live chat exploded with comments.
Kim glanced at them and quickly said, “This isn’t scripted; it’s real. I think something’s haunting me.”
Her hands trembled as she opened a drawer and took out a photo wrapped in red cloth. Holding it up to the camera, she said, “Look, there’s a woman in this photo!” The photo was clear. Kim was seated in the center, surrounded by her friends. However, near a cabinet in the upper left corner, a woman’s head peeked out. Her eyes were fixed on the camera, as if she were quietly watching their gathering.
“Wow, that’s terrifying!”
“Is this photo real? It can’t be edited, right? It’s too creepy!”
“It has to be fake! If it were real, how could the camera capture it so clearly?”
“Ms. Locke, is it fake?”
“Please tell me it’s fake!”
Kim stared intently at Madison, seeking an answer.
Madison replied, “It’s fake.”
Kim let out a heavy sigh of relief but then raised the photo again. “Ms. Locke, please take another look. I consulted someone who specializes in photo editing, and they confirmed this isn’t edited.”
Madison said, “It’s indeed not edited.”
Kim tightened her grip on the photo, her hands shaking as fear washed over her.
“You aren’t at home right now, are you?” Madison asked.
