Chapter 33
Funing with anger, Jordan made his way back to the Salle residence.
The moment he walked in, Vincent Immediately tore into him. Jordan was dumbfounded for a moment before he finally asked, “Why are you scolding me,
Dud?
“Mrs. Locke called. She told me you were disrespectful to her. What did I teach you? it’s one thing to be laid–back all the time, but have you forgotten your basic manners?”
Jordan was still bewildered. “How was I disrespectful? Mrs. Locke accused Ms. Madison unfairly, and I didn’t even lose my temper.”
When Madison was mentioned, Vincent narrowed his eyes. “How did she wrong Maddie? What happened?”
Jordan ranted about everything that happened in the Locke residence.
Vincent was even more indignant than Jordan. After years of running businesses, he could see through things better. It was clear that Rebecca was causing drama, and Tanya was playing favorites.
“This is bad,” Jordan exclaimed with a
a worried look
“What’s wrong?”
“Mrs. Locke scolded me over the phone, so you can bet Ms. Madison got it even worse.”
Madison was still at the Locke residence. Jordan couldn‘ Limagine what Tanya was going to put her through.
With that, Vincent’s expression turned just as worried.
Things turned out just as they had anticipated. After sending Rebecca off, Tanya approached Madison to lecture her.
However, when Madison stood by the door and coldly watched Tanya, the latter couldn’t bring herself to reprimand Madison
Madison’s graceful features were a reflection of Tanya’s. As Tanya looked at Madison, she realized just how much Madison resembled her. A strong feeling of love and compassion welled up inside her.
She softened her tone. “I get that you’re not fond of Becky, Maddie. That’s because you haven’t spent time with her to get to know her. After hanging out with her, you’ll realize she is easygoing kind–hearted, and ambitions. I hope you can start learning from her”
Madison was amused when she beard Tanya’s words.
Tanya used to say that in Madison’s previous life. She always went on about how great Rebecca was and encouraged Madison to follow Rebecca’s example.
This made Madison see herself as lesser than Rebecca, like she was always falling short.
“What exactly do I need to learn from Rebecca?” After being reborn, Madison’s state of mind shifted drastically.
She stopped seeing herself as interior to Rebecca Even if she wasn’t reborn, she knew she wasn’t lacking in comparison.
Tanya assumed Madison had come around and started counting on her fingers. “Becky is considerate, grateful, does well in school, and knows how to get along well with people.” Talking about Rebecca she had carefully raised, Tanya couldn’t hide the pride in her eyes. After finishing her list, she looked at Madison with a mix of pride and pity.
If it weren’t for what had happened in the past, Rebecca would be her biological daughter raised with a proper upbringing
As Tanya thought about it, the image of Rebecca’s pouting face flashed in her mind. But she quickly shook her head.
She knew she shouldn’t think that way. Rebecca was still her daughter. Even if she didn’t give birth to Rebecca, their band as mother and daughter was still strong “Spend more time with Rebecca and learn from her, Maddie, You’re both the same age, so it’ll be easy to get along.”
