Chapter 341
Rebecca reluctantly let go of Stephen’s arms. Only then did Stephen turn around to leave.
“Alright, that’s enough!” said Ethan. He sighed and complained, “You had all of us come back just for him.”
Rebecca grinned and replied, “My fiancé came back to visit me. It’s only natural that everyone should be here to back me up.”
Jason hissed and trembled. Goosebumps had risen all over him. He complained, “Ugh, you guys are so ridiculously sweet! Fine! I understand that you and Stephen are in love and in sync, okay? Still, I have to say that I won’t let you get married this young.”
Ethan nodded and said, “Stephen will have to get through us to marry you.”
Rebecca was happy, and she wrapped her arms around either of them. She was sweet when she said, “Okay, okay! I love my brothers the most! I won’t care so much about that workaholic boyfriend of mine.”
They had just returned to the living room when William slammed a folder onto the table. He pointed a finger at Harvey and demanded, “What’s your motive for showing us all this now?”
Harvey stood up as well. He had a stoic expression when he replied, “Dad, Mom, I didn’t say anything earlier because Stephen was here, and I didn’t want to ruin Rebecca’s future. However, now that it’s just us, we should discuss the matter in detail!”
Harvey turned his attention to Rebecca and demanded, “Rebecca, come here!”
Rebecca was so scared that she hid behind Jason and Ethan. She asked, “Harvey, why are you being so scary? Did I do something wrong again?”
Ethan glared at Harvey in dissatisfaction and complained, “Harvey, it’s rare for you to drop by. Do you have to yell at Becky the second you’re home? You didn’t use to be like this. Did someone con you into doing so?”
As Ethan spoke, he shifted his gaze to Madison.
Harvey scoffed and replied, “No one conned me. Rebecca, come here!”
When Harvey was angry, both Ethan and Jason would be terrified of him. Neither dared to face Harvey’s fury head–on, but they couldn’t bear to let Rebecca deal with that on her own either. Hence, all three of them approached Harvey together.
Harvey grabbed the folder and handed it to Rebecca. After that, he demanded, “Look at everything written there. Are we wrongfully accusing you of anything?” Rebecca accepted the folder, and she turned pale right after. The evidence didn’t just consist of photos. It also contained snapshots of conversations and videos “Harvey, I…”
Ethan grabbed the folder over and skimmed it. His expression changed, but he asked, “Is there something wrong with this, Harvey? There isn’t a celebrity who doesn’t have an anonymous alias. Every celebrity would anonymously vent their frustrations online.”
Harvey pointed at the folder and said, “How is this just venting her frustration? She’s convincing others to assault Maddie. Can you not see that?”
“No, she wasn’t!” replied Ethan. He checked again and challenged, “When did Becky say anything to convince anyone to hurt others? All she did was share the schedule of the birthday party. If there is anything at all that she did wrong, it’d be the fact that she unlocked the door.”
Ethan turned his attention to Rebecca and asked, “Becky, why did you unlock that door?”
Rebecca looked wronged and hurt as she answered, “I saw the discussion on the forum. Many of my fans claimed they wanted to watch me celebrate my birthday. That was why I unlocked the door. I thought that I’d let fate decide.
“If my fans were lucky and they saw the information online, they would be able to sneak in. In a way, that would grant them their wishes.”
Ethan shrugged and handed the folder back to Harvey. He said, “Hear that, Harvey? Becky didn’t make any mistakes.”
Harvey was speechless for a moment there. He sneered and said, “Let her fans sneak in? But are her fans the ones who snuck in? Everyone who showed up was there to attack Maddie.”
