Sacha fought to control her excitement, forcing down the girlish emotions that didn’t fit with her usual commanding, no- nonsense demeanor.
Percy, standing nearby, couldn’t help but think, It’s like Mr. Barlow has become a teenager ever since she had her daughter…
Jude glanced over at Davina, raising an eyebrow ever so slightly.
Davina wondered, is he greeting me somehow!
“What do you think, Sis?” Jude asked out of nowhere, his voice carrying an extra emphasis on the word “Sis“, his eyes
winkling with playful mischief.
Davina was speechless.
Meanwhile, Kennedy narrowed his eyes.
Given the connection between the Barlow and the Wilsons, it made sense that Jude would call Davina “Sis“,
But hearing him calling her like that made the Summers brothers shift uncomfortably,
After all, they were her actual brothers.
“She’s not even a Barlow!”
Stella’s loud, sharp exclamation immediately drew everyone’s attention.
She clenched her fists tightly and took a step forward, locking her glare on Davina. “Ms. Barlow, she’s not even your daughter Don’t you know that she went to
Stella stopped herself mid–sentence.
She wasn’t sure if she should push further.
She had been dying to expose the fact that Davina had been to prison, but she feared that saying it out loud might cause more trouble than it was worth.
Switching tactics quickly, she continued, “How could she possibly be your daughter? She must have tricked you! I was once her classmate, and everyone knows she’s of questionable character“”
Unable to keep p quiet any longer, Kate also chimed in, “Ms. Barlow, how could she be your daughter! There must be some mistake here.”
Ashen, already irritated by Davina’s high–handed attitude, quickly added, “Ms. Barlow, Davina does have some serious character flaws. We’ve known her for years, and there must be some misuusderstanding here.”
Davina glanced over at the Summers, a mocking smile playing at the corners of her lips. “Ms. Summer, if you can be the Summers daughter, why can’t I be the Barlows‘ daughter?”
Sacha was now fully enraged. “Do you think I don’t know whether Davina is my daughter? Even if she’s adopted, she’s still daughter. What’s the problem? The Summers have been slandering my daughter time after time–I think you are the ones with questionable character! What exactly are you after? The Barlows don’t welcome people like you!”

Sacha’s anger left Kate speechless, her face turning bright red. She glanced at Thomas, only to be met with a sharp, warning glare from him, urging her to stay quiet
Kate frowned. She hadn’t meant to stir up trouble–she just wanted the truth.

Blair stepped forward, trying to smooth things over. “Sorry, Ms. Barlow. My mother and sister must have mistaken her for someone else.”
Thomas also spoke up, attempting to calm the situation. Yes, Ms. Barlow, please don’t be upset. I’ll have a talk with them when we get home.”
Stella, though still determined, realized now wasn’t the right time to argue further.
Davina’s gaze swept across the Summers, cold and unflinching.
