Jude could tell from the way Davina was looking at him that her gaze held clear approval. She was appreciating his body in a way that couldn’t be mistaken.
It wasn’t the first time he had noticed that look.
Every time they crossed paths, her gaze was unashamed and almost hungry. Oddly enough, Jude found himself enjoying it.
Unlike the other women, whose stares of judgment turned him off. Davina’s directness felt refreshing.
She was the only one bold enough to look him over without any pretense.
Her voice, smooth and almost hypnotic, reached his ear, sending a shiver down his spine.
As she casually took in his physique with a gaze that was wide open and unguarded, Jude couldn’t help but think that if her look had the power to cause harm, it would’ve placed him in serious trouble.
Well…Her eyes intentionally dropped to his lower body.
Jude’s eyebrows raised slightly, waiting for her to finish.
“Dream on.” Davina replied, her tone thick with disdain.
Jude’s face stiffened, and his eyes narrowed with a dangerous intensity. He said her name slowly, with each syllable sharp and
deliberate. “Davina”
In that moment, Davina saw him as nothing more than a small dog, barking at her in frustration after being kicked.
A faint smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
Across the room, Kennedy’s gaze drifted toward the conversation between Davina and Jude.
He noticed how deeply engrossed they were in their exchange, and the coldness in his eyes deepened as he watched.
The man sitting next to him, a bit of a joker, teased, “It’s not often I see you interested in someone, but it looks like she’s about to be claimed by someone else.”
Kennedy responded with his usual calm and easy smile. “The game’s just beginning. It’s too soon to say who will come out on top
The remark seemed to surprise the other man.
He and Kennedy had been friends for years. Though Kennedy rarely interacted in circles of second–generation wealth, everyone knew who he was.
It was the same with Jude–few had actually met him, but his name was widely recognized.
The ultra–wealthy world was divided into distinct layers. Heirs like Kennedy and Jude were far above regular second- generation wealth. They were part of old, respected families like the Vlonios, who were at the top of the social ladder.
These families were often connected to powerful political circles or the military. Only they truly deserved to be considered the honorable heirs.
Kennedy, now at the helm of the family business, had made a significant mark in Zlanta. With his refined, handsome appearance, he was the type of man any woman would dream of being with.
But despite the constant attention, Kennedy never seemed interested in pursuing any of them.
This trait was similar to the elusive Jude
However, unlike Jude, whose harshiness intimidated everyone, Kennedy had a softer, more cultured side
Beneath his polished exterior was a quiet ruthlessness, but it made him more approachable than Jude

The man chuckled lightly, half joking. “Looks like you’re serious about her.”
Kennedy didn’t answer directly but instead took a slow sip from his glass of red wine. His gaze turned toward Davina and Jude, his expression carrying an unspoken weight.
