Chapter 80 A Battle of Wits
Davina glanced at Jasper, clearly surprised.
Maybe it was her gaze, or maybe he’d already made up his mind–but Jasper’s cheeks flushed slightly, even though his voice rang out loud and clear. “She’s my sister. If anyone’s upholding this bet, it’s me. It has nothing to do with her
Hailey nodded, too.
She didn’t think there was anything wrong with what Jasper said.
After all, Davina was now Sacha’s goddaughter, which made her a sister to them.
And if that’s the case, then Davina counted as Jasper’s little sister, too.
Plus, Hailey knew perfectly well that Jasper really liked Davina..
The calm, scholarly look on Lewis’s face cracked just a bit..
He spoke coldly. “And how exactly is she your sister? Do you even know her last name?!”
His reaction made both Ryan and Stella glanc
glance over.
Ryan had no idea why Lewis was suddenly reacting like that.
But Stella’s expression turned a little sour.
She’s

y sister, period.”
Jasper frowned. “I don’t care what her last name is. All I know is that she’s part of the Harlows now.
Jasper and Hailey were raised with strict discipline but in a loving household. That made them pretty open–hearted when it came to accepting someone like Davina.
Especially since she’d saved their grandmother’s life, and she was strong, gorgeous, and now Sacha’s daughter,
Having someone like her in the family? They were more than happy about it.
Lewis’s expression turned even colder.
“She’s not even blood–related. And you’re this protective?” he sneered.
That jab made Stella’s face twitch as well.
Davina narrowed her eyes, finally too irritated to hold back. “Wow, you really out here playing both sides, huh? You went as far as breaking the law for Stella, and now you’ve got the nerve to come for Jasper? Are you calling him shameless? That’s an insult to shameless people everywhere.”
Her words turned Jasper completely red in the face.
But her words made Lewis and Stella go pale one moment and green the next.
They never expected Davina to just come out swinging like this.
Was she out of her mind!
Why was the saying all this stuff out loud?
A flicker of guilt passed through Lewis’s eyes. He even looked away, avoiding Davina’s gaze.
All he could manage was a stiff denial “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You’re just making stuff up! Stella snapped, glaring at her She leaned in and fussed under her breath, Davina, you better
catch what you say”
Davina smirked. “And what if I don’t What are you gonna do about

If the world wanted to paint her as a mad dog, fine. She’d just out–crazy the whole pack.
Trying to argue with an idiot only makes you realize how much practice they have at being one.
And Davina didn’t waste time on people like that.
She wasn’t the one with a guilty conscience.
She wasn’t the one who’d done shady things.
In fact, she loved watching hypocrites squirm and scramble like rats:
Stella, who could see that Davina wasn’t playing by any rules, panicked a little. She turned toward Lewis.
Ryan, meanwhile, was also looking at the two of them after hearing what Davina said.
He’d been hearing rumors lately about Stella being a fake heiress. Could it really be true?
