The Girl With Lycan Blood novel Chapter 9

"Anna wake up!" Katy shakes my sleeping body.

"No," I mumble with my face buried in the pillow.

"Please, I need your help!" She wines.

"With what?" I turn over on my back to face her. I'm not sure if I want to know what she needs help with, though.

"I'm stuck babysitting three kids, and I can't do it on my own." She plasters on a puppy dog face. "Please help me," Katy begs.

"Ugh, when do they get here?" I ask, agreeing to help her.

"Yay thank you! They get here in twenty minutes." Katy cheers.

"Okay just give me time to change." I slip out of my warm covers.

"Okay, I'll be in the kitchen!" She calls back to me as she leaves my room.

Ugh, why do I get myself into this stuff? I quickly take a shower and brush my teeth. I scavenge through the closet trying to find something comfortable. I slip on a pair of sweatpants and a tank top; I grab a pair of fluffy socks to keep my feet warm. The weather's been getting chilly. I go down the stairs and enter the kitchen, and I sit down on one of the stools at the counter as Katy cooks.

"You hungry?" Katy asks as she flips a pancake.

"Yes, she is," Tyler answers for me as he enters the kitchen. He's holding papers and scanning them quickly.

"Busy?"

"Very." He bites into a pancake and sits on the stool beside me.

"Well, Anna and I are babysitting Farah's kids the whole day!" Katy cheers, obviously being sarcastic.

"I like kids; I used to help at a daycare when I was sixteen and seventeen." I smile.

"Ya of course you did, your like an angel." Katy munches on her pancake.

"No, I'm not," I protest. I can be a bad ass if I want to.

"Ha, yeah okay, you helped the women cook at your old pack, you dance like a pro, you help children-"

"Okay!" I cut her off.

"You dance?" Tyler asks, looking up from his papers.

"No," I mutter giving Katy a death glare.

Katy hits me back with a devilish grin. "She's the best dancer I've ever seen, even better than mom."

"Your mom dances?" I ask curiously.

"She did, now she just tans on the beaches of Barbados," Katy answers a bit of annoyed.

"I'll have to see for myself." Tyler changes the subject. "I better get going." He stands up.

"Where?" I ask. I don't want him to leave.

"I'm going to one our neighboring packs for a meeting about increasing the guards on watch."

"Why are you increasing guards?" I ask as I shove a piece of pancake in my mouth. Were there more rouge sitings?

"Because not one rouge that works for this leader is getting near you." Tyler looks me in my eyes; I can see the pain on his face. "I'll see you, girls, later." Seconds later I heard the front door shut.

"Okay, the kids should be here any second," Katy warns me as she cleans up the mess from breakfast. I get up to help her, and five minutes later the doorbell rings.

"I'll get it!" I call back to Katy as I jog to the door.

I open the front door and I'm greeted by a tall black haired woman who I'm guessing is Farah, and three kids, two boys around ten and eleven, and a little girl around five.
