Kingston's lips were pressed tightly together. The pain on his face seemed like the accumulation of a thousand years of suffering, deep and bottomless.

Dalton forced a stiff smile. "Yep."

Unfortunately, his smile looked uglier than if he was crying. The fact that he was leading Matthew in… was essentially an offense toward Julian. He was racking his brains thinking about how he was going to resolve the situation.
