Dalton gave things some thought before he answered, "It's true that he treasures his life a lot. He only eats organic produce, and he only goes for gluten-free bread.
"He has three private doctors waiting on him—one of them is a traditional medicine practitioner and the other two practices modern medicine. He even has a dietician to plan his meals out for him."
Matthew frostily said, "Bring me to him. I'd like to see for myself what kind of a person he is."
Dalton agreed and led them to Julian. When they reached the door, he pressed on the doorbell. It took him several rings before a loud, clear voice was heard. "Come in!"
Dalton dared not proceed without Matthew's approval. "Are we going in?"
Matthew's answer was curt. "Open the door."
Dalton turned the knob, pushed the door open, and walked in.
Matthew was just about to step into the room when the voice from just a while ago spoke up again. "Close the fucking door, Dalt! What's the point of having an air purifier if the air from outside gets in?"
But Matthew was still standing outside the door, so Dalton dared not close the door yet. He simply answered, "Ok! I'll close it right away!" But still, he stood there without making a move.
When Matthew stepped into the room, he was welcomed by a gust of cold, fresh air from the air-conditioning, which felt different from the air outside. This was probably the effect of the air purifier.
Looking around the room, he saw four people in a card game. There were three men and a woman, and each of them had tens of wads of cash piled high in front of them. They were all focused on their card game. None of them seemed to have noticed his presence.
Besides the four of them, there were also eight buff men in the room. Two of them were downing beers while the rest of them busied themselves with games on their phones. They all remained quiet, as though afraid of bothering the few people in the card game.
Just as Matthew was about to speak up, a loud sound came from behind him. He turned around to see that Kingston had closed the door.
