Matthew noticed Kingston was speaking as if he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Even without going through his hardship, Matthew could understand what being a plague doctor had put him through.

Matthew sternly stated, "In that case, why don't you just give me Plague Compendium? It'll make things easier for you, and I can finish my task."

With a drunken squint, Kingston asked, "Are you planning to become a plague doctor?"

Matthew shook his head. "Maybe I will. Maybe I won't."

At that moment, Matthew focused on completing Nicholas' assignment. He wasn't sure about being a plague doctor and was honest about it.

Kingston's eyes cleared up for a second and then went blank again. Reeking of alcohol, he cracked a wide grin and snickered.

"Seriously, I don't have Plague Compendium, but I can tell you everything about Dad's past."

Matthew thought it over and figured that any info on Plague Compendium might come in handy. He was just about to ask when Kingston suddenly wobbled toward the bar's entrance.

Upon seeing this, Matthew had no choice but to follow.

After entering the bar, Matthew caught up with Kingston and tried to ask more questions, but the blaring music made it impossible. He held back his urge to ask and chose to wait until they left the bar.

Meanwhile, as Kingston made his way inside the bar, he glanced around curiously like a country bumpkin visiting a big city for the first time. His eyes lit up with a mix of excitement and curiosity.

He checked out the bartender, glanced at the customers drinking at the bar, and watched the attractive people moving to the beat on the dance floor. He even eyed the waiters with trays, sneaking a peek at what they were carrying.

Everything caught his curiosity.

Matthew trailed behind Kingston. Having no idea what Kingston was up to, Matthew suggested, "Why don't you grab a seat?"

Kingston thought about it and replied, "From what I've seen in TV shows, you need to pay for your seat. Isn't that how it works?"

Matthew chuckled. "Aren't you here to spend some money anyway? How else are you going to meet girls without spending?"
