The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 723

Was Selene's boyfriend a specialist brought in from abroad on a ten-million-dollar salary?

Matthew was at a loss. He had no memory of the research institute hiring any specialist from abroad. "Are you sure you're not mistaken?"

Selene thought Matthew was intimidated. "He's my boyfriend. How could I possibly be mistaken? We're already at the point of discussing marriage.

"Try firing me. No amount of money could keep top talent like him around. As far as I know, it took you several tries to bring in someone of his caliber. I'd advise you to stop acting rashly."

Top talent? Matthew was curious about who this person was. "Bring him here so I can take a look."

Selene snorted. "I'll call him right now. Let's see how you explain yourself when he shows up."

As she spoke, she pulled out her phone and called Paul Winthrop, her boyfriend.

Anger boiled up inside Matthew. The bare minimum for a receptionist was to be sincere, friendly, and professional, but she was narcissistic, thoughtless, and conceited. How did someone like her even get hired as a receptionist?

What got under his skin was that overseas specialist. He wasn't impressed by the "top talent" nonsense.

The research institute ran two projects. One of them was an experiment about promoting telomere growth with traditional medicine, and the other was Emily's biology research.

Both projects were highly important and had to be kept confidential. Yet, they hired an overseas specialist. What was Tracy trying to do with this arrangement? Was she even thinking?

Seeing that Matthew standing still with a grim expression, Kingston assumed Matthew had run into a problem.

He stepped closer and whispered, "Maybe I should just go. It'd be a shame to lose the expert you worked so hard to bring in just because of me."

An expert, huh? Matthew shook his head and turned to Kingston, asking, "What's your academic background?"

Kingston sighed. "I was on track for an eight-year master's and PhD program. But after I completed my master's, something happened to my father, so I returned home.

"Since I didn't make it through all eight years, I only have a bachelor's degree. Later, I decided to switch to veterinary medicine and studied on my own, but that's also just a bachelor's degree."
