The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 724

With a grim expression, Matthew asked, "What consequences exactly?"

Paul had his nose in the air. "I came back from studying at one of the best colleges overseas, so I'm the real deal when it comes to top talent.

"Look up my profile on a job-hunting platform. I'm valued at generating a few hundred million dollars every year for my employer.

"If you fire Selene, you lose me too. I suggest you choose your words wisely."

Matthew snapped, "You're fired as well then!"

"What did you say? You're firing me? I graduated from one of the best colleges abroad…"

Paul was in utter disbelief. He trailed off mid-sentence and looked at Matthew, waiting for an explanation. It was just too absurd.

Matthew shook his head. "Do you really think graduating from the top colleges overseas is such a big deal? Times have changed. Unlike ten years ago, our society has no shortage of talent now.

"In a major city, if you threw a rock at ten people, half of them have bachelor's degrees, four have a master's, and one would have a PhD. Studying abroad doesn't make you special. You're still a nobody."

Paul's expression changed swiftly, and his face turned red with anger as he tried to speak. But Matthew couldn't be bothered, so nothing he said would matter. Realizing it was a lost cause, he turned and stormed off in anger.

He took a few steps but felt a lingering sense of reluctance. "Don't you want to check in with Ms. Lauder first? It's not really a big issue. If you think Selene isn't suited for the receptionist role, I'll ask her to quit and switch jobs."

Matthew pointed at the elevator. "Head back to where you studied and enjoy being the 'top talent' there."

Paul's face turned pale. Knowing he'd lost his job, he glared at Selene and walked off in a huff.

Meanwhile, Kingston watched with a hint of pity. "Are you really letting him go? He's a serious talent."
