Matthew sighed. When Tony came over, he was all ready to knock some sense into Jay. Now, he could only feel sorry for Jay.
Matthew could tell Tony genuinely cared for Jay, like a dad looking out for his kid. He gently tapped on Tony's arm. "Now's not the time to cry. We need to start arranging the funeral."
Funeral?
Wiping away his tears, Tony sobbed for a while as he thought it over. Eventually, he shook his head and stated, "I can't think straight. I have no idea how to handle things from here."
Matthew felt a pang of sadness, knowing Tony had been through so much that day. At his age, watching the younger brother he had raised suffer such a tragic end was just heartbreaking.
A wave of sorrow washed over Matthew. "How about I reach out to a funeral service so that they can start handling the body? We could start arranging flowers and Jay's photographs for people to mourn for his passing."
Tony leaned closer. "You're right. We can't leave Jay like this. Hurry up and make the call."
Matthew pulled out his phone and searched for a phone number before dialing it. He was about to speak when Tony shouted, "Hold on! Don't call them yet."
Feeling puzzled, Matthew fixed his gaze on Tony. He was the one who agreed to have Matthew make the call, so why the sudden change of heart?
Tony looked anxious. "Hang up first. I'll explain everything slowly."
After apologizing to the person on the phone, Matthew ended the call and turned to Tony. "What's the matter? I'm all ears."
Tony's expression twisted in anger. Like a lion whose meal had just been stolen, he gritted his teeth in rage. "Jay spent his whole life raising his three children. When he passed away, his body was left to rot without anyone noticing.
"I won't let those ungrateful brats get away with this. I'll make them come back and take care of his body. I want to see if they feel any regret when they see what happened to him."
Matthew nodded in agreement because he was just as upset about this. Tony's approach was right up his alley. "Sure thing. Go ahead and make the call."
With that, Matthew handed his phone to Tony, but the latter just shook his head. "I don't have their numbers. We need to head inside and look for them."
Were they seriously going to search the house?
Matthew frowned. With a decaying body inside and the stench filling the air, how were they supposed to go in?
Tony seemed to read Matthew's mind. "I have an idea."
After saying that, Tony held his nose and walked in. Would pinching the nose really help? He probably wouldn't last a minute inside.
