Chapter 103
“Impossible!” Simon shouted immediately. “So what if we wrongfully accused him, slapped him with a bunch of charges, and threw him in prison? It’s nothing serious, he’s not dead. Why would he hate us on that?
“Is that such a big deal?” he continued. “He’s not dead. How could he possibly hold a grudge over something like that?
“Besides, we cleared his name and made him a hero. He should be thanking us, shouldn’t he?” Simon said.
Then, he turned to Stephen and asked, “I thought you said you had him under control, that he couldn’t escape your grasp?”
Stephen stammered nervously, “I don’t know. Why would he abandon Ethan and run?”
All along, he had believed he truly had control over Howard, but it was clear he had been played. From the start, Howard had tricked him without him even noticing.
Simon cursed in frustration, “I never thought Howard Green would turn out to be such an ungrateful man! No, calling him ‘ungrateful‘ doesn’t even begin to describe it. He’s a traitor, a backstabbing rat! We need to put out a warrant for him immediately.”
Stephen asked, his voice shaking, “But what about Seaside City?”
“Seaside City…” Simon hesitated, clearly troubled.
Seaside City was messed up, and its GDP was falling by the hour.
“How much is left of Seaside’s GDP now?”
A brief silence later, Stephen said softly, “1.3 trillion. It’s projected to drop to 1 trillion soon.”
“That much?” Simon was shaken.
Losing half a billion was not just a setback–it was a potential collapse of Seaside City’s entire economy!
He took a deep breath to calm himself down. The more urgent the situation, the more important he had to stay calm. If he panicked, things would snowball out of control.
“Find a safe place and lay low. Have some rest. I’ll think of a way to settle this.”
Simon did not want to clean up the mess either, but it was his son who caused it. Even if he did not want to, he had to.
After the call ended, Simon called for an emergency meeting. Everyone else had no idea what had happened to Seaside City and was baffled by the impromptu meeting.

Chapter 103
“Why did you call us back in a hurry? What happened this time?”
“What is it? I have to go home.”
“Yeah. There have been too many meetings lately.”
Simon took a deep breath, preparing himself before saying in a low voice, “Something serious has happened in Seaside City.”
Everyone was silenced. His words sounded a little too familiar.
“What happened?” someone asked.
Simon was reluctant to explain, but since everyone was here, he had to. “Howard Green and Dennis Lewis have fled the city.”
“Huh? What do you mean they’ve fled the city?”
Simon took another deep breath and said, “The mess in Seaside City was caused by the town mayor of Crestwood, Dennis Lewis.
