Chapter 119
Stephen wiped the sweat from his forehead, swallowing hard. The situation was way worse than he had expected.
Discussions about him were everywhere online, demanding him to come forward and tell
the truth.
“No. This can’t go on. I have to ask Ethan for help!”
Stephen was frightened. He thought he could find a way to solve the problem, but after reading the comments online, he gave up on that idea.
He quickly took out his phone and called Simon
The call soon connected.
“Dad, I have an idea.” Stephen said, “I’m thinking of asking Ethan for help.”
“Ethan?” Simon frowned. “Why Ethan?”
Soon, it clicked. The situation started because of Ethan and Howard, so it could be easily resolved if Ethan intervened.
The easiest way would be for Ethan to have Howard say that everything was false and was just lies that Dennis and he orchestrated. That way, Stephen would be completely off the hook. Since Howard would never return to the country anyway, there would be no consequences for him.
“One word from Ethan, and this whole issue will be resolved perfectly.”
Simon sighed.
He had been racking his brain, stressing to find a solution, yet Ethan only needed to say one word to solve the whole thing. The difference was staggering.
“However, there’s a problem.” Stephen said, “I don’t know if Ethan will help.”
Simon said, “That’s indeed a problem.”
They had framed Ethan, tried to take his achievements for themselves, and even had him. locked away in a remote mountain. It would not be easy to ask for his help.
Simon remained silent for a moment before his eyes lit up.
“I have an idea. We’ll offer him something in return.”
Stephen asked, “What is it?”
Simon said in a low voice, “His freedom.”

“What?”
Stephen was shocked. Were they going to let Ethan go?
“What if he reveals the truth to the outside world? That won’t do!”
Simon said, “I’ve considered that already. We’ll give him a large sum of money to squander for the rest of his life as long as he keeps quiet. I believe he’s desperate for freedom after being locked up for so long. He’ll definitely agree.”
Stephen was still reluctant to agree. How could they release Ethan?
“It’s too risky,” he replied.
However, Simon said, “Relax. He won’t do it. It seems like he’s helping us, but the truth is that this is also a chance for him. In fact, he might even be grateful for agreeing”
Stephen sighed. “Okay.”
He really did not want to let Ethan go.
After all the sarcastic remarks and cold jabs at Ethan–like saying he would spend the rest of his life in the mountains, it was hard to offer him his freedom. It felt like a slap in the face.
“I’ll head back to Riveria immediately and pay Ethan a visit.”
Stephen could not stand staying in Seaside City any longer.
The situation needed to be resolved quickly. If he did not give an explanation soon, chaos might rise in Seaside City again.
He rushed out, quickly leaving for the airport. However, before he could board his car, he was surrounded by reporters.
