Stephen’s current plan was to deal with Oliver and his group after the sporting event, once other businesses had come in

How dare they deceive him, use him, and make him hurt Snow’s feelings

He absolutely would not let these people off the hook

This grudge must be settled

Oliver chuckled. If that’s the case, let me lay off a batch of workers first, then I’ll tell you how much compensation we need.”

Laying off workers would also have a severe impact on Aqua City’s economy

Stephen could smell the thinlyveiled threat behind Oliver’s words. He clenched his fists, thinking that as soon as the sporting event was over, he would get rid of all these people

After striking the deal, the pollutant emissions from several factories began to decrease

However, there were too many factories set up, and pollutants were still being discharged, which served little to alleviate the river pollution situation

Moreover, a new issue had popped up tooan invasion of nonnative species. As if it was not already bad enough, the local fish population was now suffering devastating blows

Stephen and the mayor left

When they returned to the rest area, Stephen saw someone waiting for Aqua City’s mayor

Mayor, we’ve finally found you,the man said. We’re representatives from the local mineral water companies.”

Aqua City was known for its beautiful scenery and outstanding water quality, which not only allowed it to nurture a large amount of delicious aquatic products but also resulted in it being a major exporter of clean mineral water

Our water source has been contaminated, the representatives continued. This has affected the quality of our mineral water. If this issue can’t be resolved, we’ll have to leave Aqua City.”

Although they were reluctant, the water quality in Aqua City was progressively getting worse. Should the trend continue, there would be no usable mineral water one day

If they continued to stay in Aqua City, all that awaited them was a dead end

Stephen frowned. He was aware of the pollution in the river. After all, he had just finished dealing with it

Don’t worry, everyone. I’ll handle this matter, he said. The main problem now is that

the sports complex is at the confluence of several rivers, slowing down the speed at which pollutants are discharged

We’ve already limited the pollutant emissions of several factories. Once the sporting event is over, everything will be resolved.”

Hearing Stephen’s assurance, the representatives did not say much more. They were willing to give him some time to sort the matter out

Stephen returned to his rest area and plopped down on his bed, feeling exhausted. He had been fooled again. He had been kept in the dark by Oliver and the others all along

This time, Snow had warned him, but instead of listening to her, he had scolded her

He took out his phone, wanting to call her to apologize

However, halfway through dialing the number, he remembered that Snow had been arrested and that her phone had been confiscated

Stephen heaved a weary sigh

Despite all the power the Quinns wielded, he could not comprehend why they had trouble getting Snow out of prison

Who exactly reported the matter? Who was it that prevented the Quinns from bailing her out

He called his father, Simon Quinn

At this moment, Simon was feeling overwhelmed. He had already received news of Snow’s death

To avoid implicating Stephen, she had starved herself for days and committed suicide to avoid punishment. She had gone through layer after layer of autopsies and Liam finally took her body away. Now, no one knew where she was buried

How could she have died?Simon felt a headache coming on. And out of the reasons she could have chosen to commit suicide, why did it have to be for Stephen?”

The Quinn family’s inability to bail Snow out was already a huge blow to Stephen

If Stephen found out that Snow had died, and that she died to avoid implicating him, for his sake…
