Simon fell silent. He felt his body go numb. 

Stephen had scolded Snow before he went to Aqua City. 

In other words, Snow committed suicide after he scolded her. 

‘It’s over. His outburst at Snow is likely part of the reason why she killed herself. There’s no way I can tell him the truth now.‘ 

If Stephen found out that Snow died now, that she held onto her grievances and starved to death, he would never be able to apologize to her in his lifetime. He would never hear her say ‘it’s okay‘. 

Simon’s body trembled. He did not dare to think what would happen to Stephen.

Stephen nodded. “Yeah. I’ll get back to work now.”

Snow had starved herself to death.

Liam said, “She died for Stephen. She always felt that with her criminal past, if she continued to live, people could use her relationship with Stephen to affect him. Thus, she chose to end her life so that he would not be threatened.” 

Simon was silent. 

Snow had died to avoid dragging Stephen down. 

“We could’ve talked it out. Why did she have to resort to that?” Simon was not truly concerned for Snow. He just felt that her death would affect Stephen. 

“I tried to persuade her,” said Liam. “But she was determined. She left him a letter before she died.“” 

Simon immediately said, “Give it to me.” 

Liam frowned. “That’s not appropriate.‘ 

“I’m Stephen’s father and can be considered Snow’s uncle. What’s wrong with me reading her note?” 

Liam was exasperated and made a copy of the letter for him. 

Simon took it but did not dare to read it immediately.
