George watched in disbelief as they left. He had made the biggest concession, yet they had not hesitated to leave! 

He gritted his teeth and hurried off to contact other companies, but the results were the same. Everyone was leaving, and they were doing it fast and without hesitation. They were even willing to abandon their thriving business. 

“What’s gotten into them?” 

Stephen could not make sense of it. Had something happened in Celestial City recently? 

Two things came to mind. First, Richard was kidnapped, but he was already rescued. Second, Stephen became the Grand Marshal’s mentee, and Ethan’s identity was stripped. However, no matter how he thought about it, both were good news for Celestial City. 

“Richard was kidnapped, but we saved him. That proves that we’re sure to win even against the South Regent. Furthermore, Stephen becoming the Grand Marshal’s mentee should attract more companies to Celestial City.” 

Instead, the opposite was happening–companies were leaving in droves. 

“Could it be because of Ethan? That’s impossible. He doesn’t have that kind of influence. If he were that influential, how could we have locked him up in Drakthorn Ridge? I’m overthinking this. They probably just want to leave.” 

George mulled over it for a moment. 

“If they want to go, then fine. Celestial City can function just as well without them. In fact, this opens up space for other businesses. I should take this chance to attract new businesses to Celestial City!” 

There had been a group that wanted to come to Celestial City recently, but they suddenly changed their minds and backed out. 

George got in touch with them and asked, “Didn’t you say you were coming to Celestial City? Why did you change your mind?” 

The CEOS on the other end of the line were speechless. They did not understand how George could ask such a question. 

Why were they leaving? The South Regent had set his eyes on Celestial City, and many of

George frowned and asked, “Is this because of Stephen? Although he has made some mistakes in the past, you can trust him. He’s the Grand Marshal’s mentee.” 

Those companies knew nothing about Riveria’s politics and did not care who the Grand Marshal’s mentee was. All they cared about were the results, and what they saw was Stephen destroying North Hill City, Seaside City, and Aqua City.
