Chapter 249
Ethan took off his sunglasses and finally looked at George. Even though his gaze was calm, George felt a shiver run down his spine. It was as if those eyes could see right straight through his soul!
While no one online knew Ethan’s true identity, he did. Ethan was the person who brought peace to Riveria three years ago. Even the South Regent had knelt before him.
For a moment, George did not dare to meet Ethan’s gaze.
“What I want is simple,” Ethan said slowly.
George quickly looked up. “How simple? What is it?”
“I want you all dead.”
Silence fell over the courtyard.
George stood frozen, his eyes wide. He could not believe what he just heard. With a panicked stumble, he backed away several feet, afraid that Ethan would pull out a gun and kill him on the spot.
“You want to kill us?”
Ethan replied, “Wrong. It’s not me who’s going to kill you.”
Since Ethan had made his move, he had never personally killed anyone. He had countless ways to ensure someone’s death, just like with Stephen. If Simon had not come in person to slap Stephen across the face, Stephen would already be dead.
George’s face turned even pale. He believed Ethan had the ability to make that happen.
“You’re insane. We’ve lived under the same roof for three years. Don’t you feel anything for us? Even if you’re upset at me, you shouldn’t take it out on Rachel.”
Ethan said calmly, “I told you, it’s not me who will kill you. Others will.”
Terrified, George blurted out, “Are you going to hire assassins?”
“No need for that. You’ll create your own assassins. They’ll act on their own when the time is right.”
George felt a chill run down his spine. “What do you mean by that? Can you clarify?”
Ethan responded, “You lack the capacity to manage Riveria. If Riveria falls apart, how many families will be destroyed?
“When that happens, do you think the people you’ve harmed, the people online, the
federal government, and the enemies inside and beyond the borders of Riveria will let you off the hook?”

George froze.
Ethan continued, “What you currently possess has been marked with a hidden price tag. The cost of what you took will be your lives.”
George staggered back in a daze, fear gripping him, and his body trembled. If Riveria fell apart, his fate would be nothing but death!
“Help me!” He panicked.
Celestial City must not fall!
“Go back.” Ethan offered nothing more than that.
“No!” George protested desperately. “Help me just this once!”
Ethan remained silent, leaving George gritting his teeth, trying to think of a way to
convince Ethan to lend a hand.
Just then…
“Stop asking him. He won’t help.” Stephen’s voice cut through from the back.
