Chapter 3.1

Chapter 33

Just one suitcase from Ethan had scared Stephen so badly that he was drenched in cold sweat, his shirt soaked through at the back

But he should be suffering in prison now,Stephen murmured. He must be quite miserable at the moment.”

Thinking about Ethan’s current situation made him feel a little better

Meanwhile, in prison…

Move slower. That mattress is very valuable. Don’t let anything happen to it. If Mr. Rivers. doesn’t sleep comfortably tonight, none of you will sleep!Liam was directing others as they set up Ethan’s cell.”

Also, install a doorbell by the entrance so Mr. Rivers can call us easily

Make sure the floor tiles are spotless.”

Ethan, standing nearby, was left speechless. He had repeatedly informed Liam that such setups were unnecessary, but Liam insisted on improving his living conditions

Had Ethan not stopped him, Liam would have torn down the cell walls and combined. several of them into one large room for him

Ethan said, I’m now just a prisoner.”

that

Mr. Rivers, we won’t allow you to demean yourself like Liam replied seriously, then glanced at the time

It’s getting late. Mr. Rivers, please take a shower, and dinner will be ready.”

For Ethan’s sake, Liam had specially installed a private bathroom in the prison, complete

with a water heater, and made it clear that it was for Ethan’s exclusive use

Ethan was now living a life where everything was done for him. It was infinitely more comfortable than when he had stayed at George’s house

However, Ethan did not say much about it. After all, Liam was the chief, and Ethan was just here to serve time

By the time he was done with his shower, dinner was prepared

Our head chef made it. I hope it’s to your liking, Mr. Rivers,Liam said

The dinner was quite lavish, consisting of two dishes and a soupa crisp garden salad, herbroasted chicken, and a creamy vegetable soup

It was much more lavish than the meals he was used to. Being occupied with work and having to travel about for Riveria’s sake in the past, it was rare for Ethan to take any proper

meals

Had it not been for his excellent health, Ethan would have developed gastrointestinal issues long ago. Hence, it had never occurred to than that he would be eating normal, nutritious, and abundant meals in prison

While Ethan was enjoying his dinner, it was also dinnertime at the Lowe residence. However, that night, no one had much of an appetite. The day’s events had been too unsettling, and worse news was coming

Due to the tum of events that had transpired, any officials decided to resign. They were quitting

Ethan had done so much, going as far as using his own money to help poor and disaster- stricken areas and build new roads and schools. While no one expected him to be rewarded for his charity, surely he did not deserve to be punished for it. Yet, he still ended up in prison

Those ordinary officials feared their fate might be worse if they continued working. Some had worked with Ethan before, so they knew what kind of person he was and how important he was to Riveria. Some had even been promoted with Ethan’s help
