Everyone was curious, but when they saw that Stephen did not want to talk about it, they did not press 

further. 

In the evening, he took his friends to their hotel before heading back to the Lowes‘ residence. 

The preparations for Rachel and his wedding had already begun. Decorations had been hung up. 

Rachel was in the living room, laughing with her friends. When she saw Stephen come back, she only glanced at him and pretended not to see him, continuing to chat.

Stephen nodded and silently took note of Simon’s words. For some reason, he felt the weight on his shoulders grow heavier. 

When it was nighttime, Stephen could not sleep. He did not know if he was truly ready. 

He still had to manage Rachel. Before this, he had George to help him, but he would have to become independent from now on while also becoming Rachel’s husband. There was so 

much to deal with that he felt lost about the future. 

Rachel was also unable to sleep. She wanted to know how Ethan reacted when he received the wedding invitation. 

Would he show up the next day?

“Why should I go?” 

Rachel was shocked. “Don’t you want to come and whisk me away?”

Rachel was dumbfounded. Those words were like a dagger piercing her heart.

How could that be? He must be lying! 

She immediately hung up the phone and stood up. “I’m going to find him!” 

If Ethan would not come, she would go to him!
