Chapter 449
Ethan sat on the sofa and looked at Jeremy calmly. “What is it?”
Jeremy lowered his head and told Ethan everything that happened lately, from Stephen giving him money for his mother’s treatment, the failed surgery, and his working for Stephen to repay him, to being tricked by Nolan and Fabian’s subsequent death.
He kept his head bowed, pleading, “I want to expose Nolan’s true colors.”
Ethan said, “Then, you should go to Nolan, not me.”
“He knows who I am now. I can’t get close to him anymore.” Jeremy knelt before Ethan again. “Please help me. I want to atone and bring Fabian justice.”
Ethan asked, “What has that got to do with me? Besides, Fabian’s sister and friends don’t blame you. Why make yourself suffer?”
Jeremy did not dare to lift his head. “They don’t blame me, but I can’t forgive myself.”
“That’s your problem. It still has nothing to do with me.” Ethan said, “You can leave now. I’m going to take a bath and go to sleep.”
He had no interest in their problems. Besides, they were the ones who caused said problems. Rather than thinking of a way to help them, he would rather think of what he would have for breakfast tomorrow. He also felt that the matter ended quite well for Jeremy.
“Lord Rivers!” Jeremy’s head snapped up, not expecting Ethan to refuse so firmly.
“Please give me a chance!” He crawled over to Ethan, his eyes red. “I’ll do anything!”
“Would you die?”
Suddenly, a cold voice came from the door.
Jeremy froze and turned to look. When he saw who the person was, his face went pale.
It was the South Regent!
“Did you two plan this?” Ethan looked at the South Regent. First, Jeremy came out of nowhere, and now, it was the South Regent.
“Sorry for disturbing you,” the South Regent apologized to Ethan.
Then, he stared at Jeremy coldly. “Answer me. Are you willing to die?”
The South Regent was completely disappointed in Jeremy. “I let you go because I wanted you to work with Fabian to uncover Nolan’s scheme, but you ended up killing Fabian instead! I should’ve decimated you back then.”
Jeremy lowered his head in guilt. There were many people he did not dare to face now.

The South Regent took a deep breath to calm himself down. Then, he turned back to Ethan, saying seriously, “Lord Rivers. I came today to ask you not to interfere.”
Ethan understood what he wanted to do.
