The Guardian's Return (Ethan Rivers) novel Chapter 511

“You noticed Snow gave me five million dollars but failed to see that it was her entire life savings, and you certainly missed her subsequent death," Ethan said.

"You saw the South Regent gave me 10 million dollars but missed the fact that he and Jeremy had only met once—and Jeremy was actually an enemy who infiltrated his company to steal information."

Stephen's head drooped lower and lower as Ethan continued.

"If you can give me the Quinns’ entire fortune, kill Simon, and somehow survive afterward… I might consider helping you once. Or, if you can get one of your enemies to ask for my help with money in hand, I might consider it. I won't ask for much. Just a single dollar would do."

Stephen was speechless. Those conditions were impossible to meet.

He slumped back onto the sofa, his energy visibly draining away. After being mocked, Stephen had no counter to Ethan's arguments, both emotionally and logically. Though frustrated, Stephen truly could not think of any solution.

At that moment, Ethan continued, "You came all the way back from Hill City just to amuse me, so it would be rude not to give you a gift in return.

"Would you like to see Snow's wedding invitation to someone else, or should I show everyone the footage of Jeremy's entire execution process? Or perhaps–"

"No!" Stephen shouted, unable to bear hearing more after just those two options.

Either one was more than he could handle. Snow marrying someone else? That would be worse than death!

As for the footage of Jeremy's execution… He had stood there and watched coldly as Jeremy died. If people found out that he had caused Jeremy's death and watched it happen without an ounce of emotion, his troubles would surely multiply.

Everyone was already suspicious of his identity. If the video of him killing Jeremy got out, his life would definitely be ruined!

He dared not let Ethan continue, terrified of what other horrors might follow.

Looking back at the villa one last time, he shuddered and could not bear to look any longer. He quickly got in his car and headed down the mountain.

On the way down, he checked his phone and saw that there were still many posts about him online. Despite spending money to suppress the media and having platforms ban numerous accounts, that incident had gotten out of hand.

It had seriously damaged his reputation, and if not handled properly, it would affect not just Hill City but all of Riveria.

Stephen turned off his phone, feeling a headache coming on. He genuinely had no idea why Riveria was so difficult to manage.

He had tried so hard, so why did he keep making mistakes? Could Ethan really be better at managing Riveria?

"Is Riveria really going to fall apart without him? No! I must resolve this situation." Having just been humiliated by Ethan, he desperately wanted to prove himself. "I can definitely do it. I control my own destiny!"
