The video went viral. It was all over social media, everyone’s feeds, and even chat groups. Whenever the police officers saw Ethan, they felt a mix of feelings. They could not understand why Liam would treat Ethan, a man who’d committed so many heinous acts, so well. Would it not be easier to just put a bullet in him and be done with it? 

Liam was also questioned by his parents and wife at home. 

“Why are you helping that monster?” 

“Do you know how many people are homeless because of him?” 

“How do you sleep at night, knowing you’re protecting someone like him?” 

Liam faced a dilemma. He wanted to defend Ethan, but as he faced the accusatory looks of his loved ones, he found himself at a loss for words. 

He felt helpless, sad, and also despair. Meanwhile, the reporter who interviewed Ethan got promoted. 

At the Lowes‘ residence, Stephen, George, and Rachel gathered to watch parody videos mocking Ethan. Ethan’s head had been photoshopped onto different bodies, and eggs were thrown at him, creating a hilarious video. 

The three could not stop laughing. 

“The people online are so talented.” 

“This is hilarious.” 

“I wonder if Ethan would pass out watching the videos. Hahaha!” 

Back in North Hill City, Shawn, Eric, and Brandon also found the time to watch the parody videos as well. Out of the three, Brandon enjoyed it the most. 

Over the past three years, he had been living in constant fear of Ethan, a rival he could never hope to defeat. He would even have nightmares about Ethan at times and wake up in a cold sweat, with his heart pounding in terror. 

Now, seeing Ethan as the butt of everyone’s joke and the public, enemy, the fear that haunted Brandon faded, allowing him to laugh harder than he had in years. However, the amusement did not lead them astray from their priorities. They must make as much money as possible. 

The parody videos about Ethan made them laugh, but they also knew the message being him as the 

delivered to the masses: Ethan Rivers has been officially taken down, being 

stabilizing force, the true chaos would soon befall Riveria.

Even the three of them did not have enough confidence to survive the upcoming disaster. Therefore, they had to milk whatever money they could get from the city and leave as soon as possible. If they were too late, others might discover their lies and expose them. 

Riveria was one of the richest provinces in the country. Every inch of land was worth a thousand gold. No one would let someone else take a piece of that pie. 

Eric and Shawn were milking this situation for all it was worth, while Brandon continued to use the land that he got to scam more money from the people. 

As they had been featured in the news, publicly praised for their efforts, and put on performances in front of the cameras, the people had a good impression of them, hence placing their trust in them. 

People even started to donate money to them, hoping that they could restore order and peace in the city. Their pockets got filled quickly. 

Liam, trying to escape the pressure from his parents and his wife, left his house and returned to the station. However, as soon as he arrived, he was questioned by his men. 

“Sir, why are you treating Ethan Rivers this well?”
