Chapter 58 

While Stephen was talking to Simon on the phone, the doorbell rang 

“Who’s at the door?” 

Stephen glanced outside, and when he noticed was Zane, his brows immediately furrowed. 

“Dad, I have to go now. Talk to you later.” 

Simon chuckled and said, “Alright. Talk to you soon.” 

After the call, Simon happily wandered off to brag about his son’s amazing achievements and bright future 

“James, my son will be doing so well next year!” 

“Tom, my son will be joining the cabinet next year! He will beat your son to it!” 

“Harry, why don’t you come over to have dinner at my place? My son is coming back next year.” 

Meanwhile, back at the Lowe’s residence, Stephen answered the door. 

He looked at Zane, asking, “Mr. Sutton, what brings you here? Have you seen through Ethan Rivers‘ true color and come to apologize?” 

He scrutinized Zane. 

“If this is an apology, isn’t it a little insincere? Not even a small gift? If you want me to forgive you, this won’t do.” 

Zane took a deep breath, clearly holding back his anger. He did not want to punch the fool in the face, so he tossed the phone to him instead. 

“What’s this?” Stephen asked while picking up the phone and saw a video playing. 

“Bang! Bang! Bang!” 

The video showed a gunfight between two groups, both sides wielding deadly machine guns. There were several dead bodies on the street, whose blood painted the pavement red. 

Stephen widened his eyes in shock. 

“Is this a gunfight footage from another country?” 

Zane said, “This happened in North Hill City.” 

“What?” 

Stephen was shocked. How could it be 

North Hill City?

“Are you kidding me? Is this a prank? North Hill City is thriving. How can something this violent happen? I’m warning you not to play jokes on me and mind your words!” 

Zane stared at him coldly. The lack of emotions in his eyes made Stephen shudder. 

“If you 

don’t believe me, why don’t you call Shawn Hill and ask him about the situation?” “I will do just that!” Stephen pulled his phone out immediately and called Shawn. “Ring… Ring… The number you have dialed is not available. Please try again later.” 

“I can’t get through? He must be busy. I’ll call Eric.” 

When Stephen got the same monotonous message from the phone, a cold sweat broke out on his forehead. 

He frantically tried calling Brandon, but he could not get through either. 

“Thud!” 

The phone fell off his shaking hands. If one of them turned off his phone, it might be a coincidence, but three? 

Three of them held high positions in the city and had multiple phones in possession–one for private life and one for work, which was never turned off. Yet, the three of them were unreachable. 

“This is not real. You’re lying to me!”
