Chapter 79
Lounging in his villa overlooking Seaside City, Howard Green read an article on Ethan.
According to the news, Ethan was free and had acquired a house as a gift. However, Howard had not been able to get in touch with Ethan despite multiple attempts.
Howard was worried about Ethan’s safety. After all, he would not be where he was today if it were not for Ethan.
Three years ago, Seaside City was a hotbed of conflict as various entities and organizations vied for power.
Howard was the leader of one of the entities, and his organization was one of the best in Seaside City, potentially giving Crestwood a run for its money. However, a traitor in the ranks and Crestwood’s aggressive approach of usurping other organizations led to Howard’s defeat against Crestwood.
Howard could never forget the day of his downfall.
It was raining that day, and he met Ethan for the first time. At the time, the mayor of Crestwood and his people were hunting Howard down.
REPARTO
Howard, having sustained multiple cuts, was backed into a corner, while Dennis Lewis, the mayor of Crestwood, approached Howard with a smirk and raised his knife.
Howard closed his eyes in despair, but seconds later, he was still alive. He opened his eyes to see Ethan who had his back facing Howard, his left hand holding an umbrella, and his right grabbing Dennis‘ knife.
“Spare him.” Ethan said, “He is of use to me.”
Furrowing his brows, Dennis said curtly, “Who are you? Watch your attitude with me. Do you know who I am?”
Ethan released his grip and said, “I do. You’re Dennis Lewis.”
Dennis frowned, confused that Ethan would stop him despite knowing his name. In his opinion, Ethan was asking for it. Even the city leaders would be respectful of Dennis.
The rain was pouring, pounding against the ground as Dennis stood with dozens of armed men at his back. Yet, the man in front of him remained completely unfazed.
Dennis asked, his voice husky, “Who the hell are you?”
As soon as the words left his mouth, his crew strode forward, ready to restrain Ethan. They had been through to hell and back before, so the intensity of their desire to kill hung heavy in the air.

“Ethan Rivers.”
At the mention of that name, Dennis nearly dropped his knife in shock, and the crew behind him backed away in panic as if they had seen a monster.
Some stumbled to the ground, crawling back without retrieving their dropped weapons. Their aggression before was a stark contrast to their sad retreat.
They were too familiar with the name, Ethan Rivers. They might not have met Ethan before, but not too long ago, South Regent, a powerful military figure from abroad, retreated to his land, vowing never to cross the borders so long as Ethan remained.
Who was South Regent?
