“You’re exaggerating, Benny,” Violet patted Benny on the shoulder and said with a chuckle.
It was only now that Benny finally calmed down. He could feel himself sweating, and the clothes under his coat were all wet with sweat.
Benny took a deep breath and said quickly, ”Since Chief Police Wholeton and Director Crate are here, there must be nothing wrong with your hotel, so we won’t check you anymore…”
With that said, Benny wanted to leave with his men.
Violet stopped him and said, “How could you not check? You’re already here. If you don’t check, won’t outsiders say I intimidated you by using Chief Police Wholeton and Director Crate’s power if they know? Check us now, Benny. I’ll have someone bring you the accounts and tax payment records. Check them as you please.”
With that said, Violet ordered Cheryl, “Go… Get our hotel’s accounts and tax payment records.”
”Yes.” Cheryl nodded, turned around, and left.
Cheryl soon arrived with a heap of accounts and tax payment records.
“These are our hotel’s accounts and tax payment records for the last three years. They’re all here.”
Cheryl was breathless as she laid down the accounts.
Benny stood still, not sure if he should check.
“Check them since I told you to check. What’s there to hesitate?” Violet said with a chuckle.
Benny had no choice but to do whatever Violet said. “We’ll check them now…”
”Yeah, go on.” Violet nodded.
”Really?” Benny asked again, still hesitating.
“That’s good…” Derrick smiled, walked up to Benny, tapped him on the shoulder, and said, “Benny, perhaps you don’t know that Mr. Violet Lennon is the chairman of this hotel, but Chief Police Wholeton and I also have shares in this hotel and are its shareholders. Do you understand?”
No wonder Chief Police Wholeton and Director Crate are here. It turned out they were also shareholders of this hotel!
