Omas came to report to Rose in the evening. He was so efficient that he had gotten all the information Rose wanted so far.
Michael, the patriarch of the Carver family, was important in Ocean City’s pharmaceutical industry. He owned about half of Ocean City’s medicine manufacturing and pharmacy, and his family was wealthy.
In contrast, Alexander’s family had an ancestor who was a famous doctor, but no one in the recent generations measured up to that standard.
Alexander was a quack to Jordan, not to mention Alexander’s son, Mitchell. However, Mitchell was close to Michael’s granddaughter, Eleanor. It was rumored that they were about to get engaged soon.
Rose also figured out why Alexander was acting the way he did today.
He was afraid that his engagement would be called off due to an external force like Jordan, and any mistake might create irreparable consequences.
Michael Carver only had two sons. The eldest son devoted himself to building up the Carver family’s fortune and never married. However, he died in an accident.
The second son was unconcerned about the family business. He got an easy job and slacked off. However, he did have a daughter, Eleanor.
Having only one granddaughter, Michael naturally cared deeply for Eleanor. Therefore, if one married Eleanor, they would get at least half of the Carver family’s fortune.
Connecting this information, it was unsurprising that Alexander and Mitchell were so hostile to Paul.
Rose pondered when he heard this. He did not expect to get acquainted with someone powerful. It was a good thing.
He could use Michael as his first pawn against the Lake family and slowly pave the way.
Omas also got Rose some information about Curtis.
Rose slowly developed a plan that used the Carver family as a starting point and would nibble away at the Lake family. He was pretty happy with today’s intel.
After telling Omas to leave and rest, Rose got a good night’s sleep.
Over the next few days, after giving the Old Master Carver two more special needle treatment sessions, Rose ordered Omas to escort Willow back to his home. After all, Ocean City was rainy, hot, and humid. Willow could not adapt to the environment here, and Rose did not want her to get into unnecessary trouble.
