The Heartbreak Prescription novel Chapter 981

Chapter 981

Half an hour later, Shaun brought Halsey back to the villa.

The maid greeted them politely, “Welcome back. Would you like me to prepare dinner?”

Shaun replied, “We already ate out. Just prepare some bone broth.”

The maid nodded. “Right away.”

The bone broth was for Halsey. Shaun was very strict about her daily diet-she had to drink nourishing soups every day.

Shaun held Halsey’s hand as he led her upstairs to their room.

Halsey pulled her hand away. “Sit down. I’ll re-bandage your wound.”

Shaun looked at her. “Do you realize your mistake today?”

Halsey froze. Was he about to bring this up and give her a serious talking-to now that they were back?

“I didn’t do anything wrong,” she said. “Those two guys were drunk and harassing me. It’s not my fault I’m pretty. Don’t blame women for men’s bad behavior when they can’t control themselves!”

Shaun couldn’t help but laugh. Even now, she was still quick with her words.

“I know it’s their fault. What I’m talking about is you going on stage to dance. I already told you, you’re pregnant, and you shouldn’t be dancing on stage. That was dangerous. For your sake and the baby’s, don’t do risky things like that again.”

Halsey looked at him. “You just don’t want me to dance. You’re always blaming me for going up there. That’s double standards!”

“What do you mean? How is it double standards?”

“You didn’t say a word when Elise danced on stage, but when I do, you act like it’s a huge deal.”

Shaun was speechless.

Why would he care if Elise danced? What right did he have to oppose it? It was ridiculous.

Halsey sighed. “Forget it. I don’t want to talk about this anymore.”

She tried to turn away, but Shaun suddenly grabbed her wrist and gently pulled her into his arms.

Halsey was startled. She quickly raised a hand and pressed his chest. “What are you doing?”

Shaun cupped her chin, looking at her soft, beautiful face. “You’re different from Elise.”

“What do you mean?”

“She won’t cause trouble when she dances. But when you dance, there’s always some problem. You’re prettier and more dazzling than she is. Don’t you know that?”

Halsey’s eyes lit up. Was he complimenting her, saying she was more beautiful, more dazzling than Elise?

Well, that was a first!

Halsey wondered if the sun was rising from the west that day, but she couldn’t verify it because it was nighttime.
