The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 497

"Mrs. Langley Senior, since you had your brother sell off Selena back then, you must have also known which wealthy lady gave birth at that hospital, did you not?"

Natalie's voice turned sharp. "At that time, another child, Emma, was also switched. Her biological mother was Cindy, my mother's personal maid. You have been plotting this for over 20 years.

"You sold Selena, swapped me and Emma, then poisoned Marcus' mother. What exactly was the purpose behind all of this? Or did this scheme begin even earlier? What was the ultimate goal?"

As Natalie pressed her with questions, Grace's face grew increasingly pale. Her mind went blank, her thoughts consumed by the chilling interrogation.

"Mrs. Langley Senior, who was behind this? Who instructed or coerced you into doing all this? Was it Cassie? Speak!"

Grace covered her ears and instinctively tried to flee, but Natalie grabbed her wrist before she could take a step.

"Where do you think you are going? You're not leaving until you explain everything."

"I promised Selena I would bring down Langley Group," Grace said. "I'm willing to apologize, to atone for everything. Please, Nattie, let me go."

Tears streamed down Grace's face as she suddenly broke down. "I don't know what I did wrong. I was threatened and manipulated into doing all of this. But my daughter, Megan, was with me for less than three days.

"Megan… She was taken from me when she was just a baby. I just want her to be safe. I just want her to be well."

"So, what Julie said was true? Kenton is really your biological brother? Back then, besides selling Selena, he also took in a baby girl, carefully raising her and naming her Megan. But not long after, she disappeared from his side. She was taken away, was she not?"

Grace's sobs grew more intense. She covered her face with both hands, her body trembling uncontrollably.

"Stop talking. Please, stop talking. Natalie, I beg you, don't talk any more. Let me go. Please, I'm begging you, let me go!"

Natalie took a deep breath. Seeing Grace in this state, Natalie decided to hold back her next question.

If Cassie had set this plan in motion more than 20 years ago, what was her ultimate goal? Was it truly just for love? If Cassie only loved Wesley, then why did she drag the Walker family into this?

Natalie pressed her fingers to her temple. "Hector, I need to call Mom."

"Go ahead, I will keep an eye on her." Hector nodded at Natalie and handed a tissue to Grace. "Mrs. Langley Senior, crying will not change what has already been done."

"I was forced, I had no choice. Mr. Hector, my daughter was taken from me when she was only three days old." Mrs. Langley Senior sobbed pitifully.

"Then why didn't you report it to the police?" Mrs. Langley Senior, perhaps there were other options back then, but you refused to take them." Hector's gaze was sharp.

"I had no choice. I had no other options!"

"Then let me ask you questions, and you will answer them." Hector gestured for a server to bring coffee. Though visibly uneasy, the server complied without question.

Grace had booked the entire restaurant in advance, so despite it being mealtime, only Natalie, Hector, and Victor's family were present, along with a few cautious staff members.
