The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 560

Natalie and Marcus left Kenton's office hand in hand, but they didn't go far. Instead, they turned and entered another room.

This office had a large one-way mirror. From Natalie and Marcus' room, they could see everything happening in the room across.

Yvette and Charlene were pushed into the opposite room by Kenton's bodyguards.

By this point, Yvette had already regained consciousness. The Umbrahex in her system had begun to flare up. The moment the guards released their grip, she curled up on the ground, writhing in agony.

"It hurts… It hurts!" Yvette screamed in pain, rolling back and forth on the floor as snot and tears poured down her face.

"Nat, did my mother suffer like this when her symptoms hit?" Marcus' deep, hoarse voice rang out, the hatred in his eyes pouring out, bit by bit.

"Laura's condition back then was far worse than this." Natalie reached over and held Marcus' fingers. "The pain she endured was 100—no, 1000 times worse than this.

"Yvette contracted a terminal illness and thought that meant she had immunity from punishment. But she was wrong."

Marcus let out a cold laugh. "Kenton will make sure she suffers slowly. Let's go."

"Alright."

Marcus didn't want to watch any longer. Every second he looked at Yvette reminded him of Charles dying in his study. He couldn't take it—he really couldn't.

After they left the room, it wasn't long before Sheldon entered in disguise. He stood where Marcus had just been and removed the mask over his face.

Behind the glass, Yvette screamed hoarsely in pain. Meanwhile, Charlene was huddled in a corner, too afraid to move.

Sheldon's eyes were bloodshot now.

But it was not nearly enough. The pain Yvette was suffering now was nowhere near enough.

Someone knocked on the door at this moment, and Kenton walked in soon after.

"Sheldon, Mr. Holden didn't see you, did he?" Kenton asked with concern. "Mr. Holden and Ms. Walker just left. A new management team will soon take over this hospital.

"Once I deal with Yvette, I'll accept my punishment for the sins I've committed."

"You've finished the divorce proceedings with Julie," Sheldon said matter-of-factly. "Kenton, are you really ready to die?"

"I've been ready for a long time," Kenton answered calmly. "I never wanted to be Yvette's dog, but my sister's daughter was always in her hands, and our forces were no match for hers.

"She forced me to do a lot of dirty work. I've kept evidence of all of it, but even now, she still won't reveal Megan's whereabouts.

"I've even started to wonder; maybe after she helped deliver Mrs. Holden's baby, she got rid of Megan. Otherwise, how could she have just disappeared, dead or alive?"

"Yvette hasn't suffered enough yet. But once the pain becomes unbearable, she'll talk," Sheldon said coldly. "Kenton, your methods still aren't enough."

Kenton paused, then nodded in acknowledgment. "I understand. Thanks for the advice, Sheldon."

"Alright."

Kenton turned and left the room thereafter. Meanwhile, Sheldon continued watching the scene before him through the glass. Yvette was clawing at her own scalp in pain. Blood soon streamed down from her head.

Having left Sheldon alone, Kenton pushed open the door to the adjacent room. "Yvette, Lina is here."

Yvette had already been driven off the edge by the unbearable pain. She could no longer see or hear anything around her. All she could feel was the agony—bone-deep, soul-tearing pain, plunging her into total darkness.

Her body trembled violently as the pain was unbearable. She only wanted to die.

Kenton sneered and walked over to inject her with a painkiller.

The medicine kicked in, and Yvette slowly began to settle down. Curled into a tight ball, she trembled uncontrollably from the lingering pain.

"Kenton, I'm here now. Didn't you say that if I killed Yvette, you'd let my daughter go? Will you keep your word?"

Kenton shook his head. "No. I've changed my mind. You'll give me Megan and kill Yvette. Only then will I let Charlene go."

Lina gritted her teeth. "Kenton, don't go too far."

"Too far?" Kenton scoffed. "Compared to you Jenkins women, I'm practically a saint. Anyway, that's the deal. If you don't agree, I can't let you take Charlene.

"Yvette's just an old woman with a terminal illness. She's going to die eventually. But Charlene—she just turned 18 not long ago.

"Grace is about to die. All she wants is to see her biological daughter, Megan, before she goes. And you still won't give her that?"

Kenton looked at Lina. "You're a mother too. You should understand why I'm doing this."

"Yvette, where is Megan?" Lina suddenly screamed. "Say it! Are you determined to drag all of us down with you? You're dying, but do you have to take my daughter with you?

"Yvette, I'm warning you. If Charlene dies because of you—if anything happens to her—I will never forgive you. I'll kill you with my own hands.

"Say it, Yvette!"

Kenton raised his hand, and the bodyguards holding Lina immediately let go.

Lina immediately rushed up to Yvette, grabbing and shaking her hard. "You're already dying, so can't you let me and my daughter have a little peace? Will you only be satisfied if we all suffer like you?

"I need to know where Megan is. Tell me! Say something!"

Lina was on the verge of collapse. Charlene was still so young, and her life had barely begun. Why should she have to be sacrificed for Yvette's hatred?

Yvette had already ruined Lina. She had poured everything she had into giving Charlene a normal life. And now, even that had become a luxury.
